My Spanish has fallen away with lack of practice over the years and I've decided just now that I'm moving back to a latin country. You know, Mexico, maybe Florida or Oklahoma, a place like that. Have any of you learned Spanish from things like Rosetta Stone or similar packages? How good are they? Mucho gracias!

My buddy has Rosetta Stone, loves it.
He says learning from it is much easier than other 'courses' he's tried in the past.

A friend of mine used the RS Spanish program and he said it not only worked well for him but his then 5 year old daughter picked up quite a bit by just being in the room when he studied!

I used one called "Visual Link Spanish" before I came to Sth America. It's not bad, conversational stuff in the first module and then verbs in the second module. I've no experience of any others, so can't compare. As with any language though, it's useless unless you put it into practice regularly!

Here's the deal with R. Stone...

Go to the mall and make friends with a dude who is working the booth. Get him to buy one for you at his "employee" rate. Then pay him half of the retail. Works, but you might have to check a few different locations.
