Acesover. The point is people think sports mean something and matter to everyone and that the world would fall apart without sports. None of the magicians I have know have ever acted this way nor have fans of other forms of entertainment that I know. I have never thought magic was important to everyone or that it is going to change anyone's life. Sure magic is important to me but I'm not going to die if all of a sudden there was no more magic at all. No props books etc.. sure would be upset but not end of the world. Ask a good majority of sports fans what they would do if there were no more sports. You will hear a much different story. Also tell a football, baseball, fan that you don't like sports at all. They look at you like you have the leprosy and must be avoided. Someone tells me they don't like magic that is fine. I know there are some magicians that do that too when told by someone they don't like magic. But most magicians are not that way.

It's fine to really enjoy things one likes but people blow sports up to be some life saving wonder and it's not pure and simple.

I'm sure several on here now feel I should be tared and feathered for saying the above. Or that I'm on par with a heritic.

You are making up senarios to fit your quote after the fact.

Your quote: The point is people think sports mean something and matter to everyone and that the world would fall apart without sports. You said this no one else.

Are there sports fanatics? Of course. But you go on to say how trival it is.. granted it is not like "world peace" or a "cancer cure" but what is? As I said before, sit back and smell the roses. Life is to short. So you don't like sports..that does not make you a good person or a bad person it makes you an individual. Live and let live. Jst because 75 or 80 million people watch the super bowl and the advertising is $100,000 a second does not make it trival or vital. It simply makes it a fact of life that people think it is worth $100,000 a second to advertise on this broadcast and they do so.

Different strokes for different folks. It is all good.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000

What a bunch of girly men.

If you don't think Bruce is number one then you are full of number two.

Magic is fun but not as much as football, or hard hitting rock and roll. This thread reminds me that I have very little in common with the duds that post here.

Not me Al! You're my hero. I couldn't have said it better. Outstanding game--outstanding half-time show.

Now, the Nascar season opens this Saturday night with the Bud shoot out in Daytona.Smile

Football is done until summer, rugby is starting up for the spring. Summer has baseball and 7s rugby, then come the fall it's football and rugby. And magic going all along...life is good

I watched the end. It was just as I expected; One of them won. My emotional investment has paid off.

If my lack of interest in watching, what I find tantamount to gay "Maxim" type porn, to be girly... I might disagree.

I also have no interest in watching people turn left at high speeds 700 times.
does that make me unable to drive?
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

FYI
Singers at the Super Bowl:

Jenifer Hudson lip synced her song.

Faith Hill lip synced her song.

Bruce Springstein belted out a 12 minute half time show live, because Bruce never learned how to fake it.

By the way I wasn't saying I was better then anyone else for not liking sports. It's not any less manly to not like them either. Nor did I add anytying after the fact. I was just continuing with my post from before. I didn't even wish to respond to this anymore but was drawn back out from under My rock. It's now more then boring (Not that it wasn't in the first place in this thread) so I will go back under for a bit.

I'm with Santa. Didn't watch the game, but I did tune in for Springsteen. It sounded like he hurt his voice during Born to Run, but he is getting older, and he still puts on a *** good show.

AGREED! I was thoroughly impressed. IT'S BOSSSSS TIME!

I also only tuned in for Bruce, he was incredible, just incredible. He's got a new world tour in the works, by the way Smile.

For anyone who missed it, well, see what you missed, including Bruce's unforgettable power slide right into the camera.

One thing that bugged me though... I can't remember exactly when but I remember the camera getting a close-up of Clarence in his pimp outfit at one point, only to find the Big Man rockin' it out on a COWBELL? What the HECK?

And where'd that huge gospel choir come from?
