Jay Nobedzada has done a disservice to magic with this pile of tripe. I thought his coin dvd had reached new lows until I saw this.

Frank, have you watched the ben salinas sponge ball dvd? I actually think it is excellent, and he uses an excellent way to vanish a ball using a clip vanish I never knew before. Also steve darci's dvd is great, comes with props and the slydii purse frame vanish I love
I also have to agree the jay noblezada dvd is absolute garbage, the only good part was the gary darwin part. I actually talked to jay noblezada through emails a couple years ago about my retention vanish, after helping me a little bit and basically telling me my retention vanish still needed work (after I practiced it for weeks and posted a new video), he told me he didn't have time to help me any more and quit responding to my emails. |

Good call Frank.
If you were a 15 year old today, looking to get started in sponge work, would you choose steve dacris toolbox or noblezadas? The packaging, music and hype...etc...I recieved sponge as a promo and couldn't believe how boring this whole routine is. I have bad news for any beginner who thinks they can take this to the streets and get "oohs and aahs" with this "routine"........Go with Dacri. |

I learned my sponge ball moves from this DVD, developed my own routine, and do in fact get "oohs and ahhs" from the audience.

Wouldn't really matter who oohs and ahh's as long as they reactions are genuine.

The worst of the worst has a lot of companions on my book shelf. It makes you appreciate how special the pearls are from magicians that not only make the magic come alive but can provide us with the necessary tools to perform.

Frank is right. The Pat Page DVD is great. Well worth the money imo.
Another thing that might be worth checking into is Lance Pierce and his World Famous Bowl routine. Good routine and he has some bits on sponge balls, particularly the vanish that are very, very nice. |

I first got in to sponge balls with the Noblezada (sp?) DVD, which was a good "no brainer" entry in to sponge balls. The stuff fooled my two year-old niece pretty well (I curse the day she learned the word AGAIN)but it doesn't take a geneous to realise that there are a lot of gaps in the work.
Ben Salinas's stuff is good, but as with all of his stuff, I feel like it's a 30 minute DVD crammed in to 2 hours - but hey - maybe that's just the way you like to produce things on the American side of the pond. Technically, the Steve Dacri stuff is fantastic. He actually goes in to some of the theory behind why things work, and in my opinion, once you know the theory, it's much easier to adapt the moves / slights / routines to your liking. I'm still to see Pat Page's work. In my opinion, you're best off buying Dacri, and borrowing Salinas and Noblezada from your richer and more money free friends. |
