Hello all you magical people. I have worked a few restraunt gigs and even strolled around at a few wedding receptions before. However in a few days I have an interview with the only local casino about strolling around performing magic and contact juggling. Am really just curious if anyone has any pointers on anything in this enviorment. Any ideas for effects, marketing or pricing.

I live in a state which is slowly legalizing gambling. They opened the first casino in my area about a year ago. No table games, slots only, but many feel that will change. I tried like hell to get a gig there in one of the restaurants or bars. An agent I work with often did all the entertainment for the grand opening and thought I would be a shoe in. The company just didn't get it. They kept thinking I would be bothering people when they were trying to gamble, and they didn't like that. I've been there for a few private gigs and employees have seen me and said "Man, it would be cool if we had you here all the time" but the higher ups don't get it.

Have you thought about approaching a mobile fun casino? That works really well as it’s all about entertainment, in fact I set up a my own fun casino company as it fits into my kind of performance and who better to pass on work!!.

That's not a bad idea royston but it cost money I don't have. As far as getting the job pepka am not worried about that there wanting me to call them and the word is they already have a magician there just not satisfied with him as an artist or people person. two areas in which am highly confiednt. Am concerned more about over or under pricing myself.

I can't tell you how but a friend of mine was a prominent feature magician at a huge casino for a long run. He told me you will have to be on their case because casino people have A.D.D. They can be hot for you and then completely forget about you the next week.
I tried, and sure enough I wasn't persistent enough and the conversation gone from red hot to ice cold within a week. Then I kind of just gave up So yeah, be persistent. It took my friend four years of legwork to get a major casino deal. I didn't have the discipline and screwed it up. GOOD LUCK BRO
