I think Moxahlla is right, it's a female thing. My cell escape is just a bit smaller then Mark's box and I take my shoes off to get inside. Then again you can't really sit like that in 3inch heels it's murder on your ankles.
In general I think women tend to take their shoes off more than men. Take them off to drive the car, under the table at dinner, always see women with them off at weddings...yup, it's a girl thing. Ms.M
