Can anyone assist as to the best set of clubs for a fairly novice juggler to purchase? Assume price is not a factor.
I am interested in make, model, size, number of clubs etc. Any advice from those that have more experience would be appreciated. Thanks very much. Renaldi |

Thank Cap'n Mike.
So, the answer appears to be Renegade 95mm. Is there any particular model and how many clubs ie 3 or 4, etc? Renaldi |

Hi there,
The general rule for any juggling equipment is to buy one more than you can already juggle - if you don't have one more, you'll never learn one more! However, if you've been juggling clubs for a little while, you might not find 4 clubs too difficult (if, like me, your two in one hand was pretty good before buying 4 clubs, it won't be hard). In that case, go for 5 clubs so that you can learn up to 5, which is very impressive. Of course, if you are getting 5, you could get 6 to allow for passing between you and a partner. Then again, if you want to pass, 7 isn't all that hard and 8 might follow on. So, as you can see, the number of clubs to buy is an interesting question. Personally, assuming you want to focus on single person juggling, I would buy 5. You have a spare if you only get up to 4, and you can have the occasional go at 5 to see if you want to learn. Hope this helps and let us know what you decide! Take care Mark

I use and love renegades, but they can feel a little clunky and hard on the hands. If you are a just transitioning from 3 or 4-balls to club juggling (i.e. still getting the hang of it), buy three of these delphins:
http://www.jugglingstore.com/store/detail.aspx?ID=385 They are reasonably priced, durable, well balanced, fairly light, and easy on the hands. These are passable with a wide variety of clubs. They will be a great learning club. There are lots of advanced club jugglers who use these, but you may eventually want to switch to something else. Before you invest in 7 clubs of whatever you prefer, 3 of these will serve you well. (I bought 5 decorated renegades at a festival, and one day later, I discovered and bought 7 of delphins to have as a passing set with my dad. Both sets are excellent.) -Daniel |

I would like to thank Cap'n Mike, Mark and Daniel for their helpful comments and suggestions.
It looks like I will end up buying 5 clubs and am still deciding which type. My best to you all, Renaldi |

95mm is the style, so if you want them just pick your color.

For those attending the IJA convention, Renegade will be introducing a new club to the market and Jay & Company have been creating new performance pieces that will showcase the new prop. It will be called the "Flathead" similar to the fathead clubs but different. Can't wait to see them. Word on the street is that the Fettucini Brothers will be performing the "bottle club dance" as an opening to the Welcome show. Don't miss this one people.
See you in Winston, AL aka S
