Stand-up (or Parlor) magic is the type of magic I am interested in.
Are these DVDs any good? Does the tricks taught on them require any special props that has to be bought, or can you make them yourselves with materials that is found in your home. I am also looking into World's Greatest Magic - Master Card Technique Volumes 1 -3. Are they any good?

The only collection I don't recommend is the Master Card Technique. It is a re mastered set of video shot a long time ago, I mean a loooooong time ago. It isn't well filmed and the explanations are lacking. Everything else I've seen under the Wrold Greatest etc has been top notch.

I have the Volume 2 and it's pretty good. You will need props for most of the tricks taught. It can range anywhere from a piece of rope to items only available at magic shops.

Can anyone be more spesific. I live in South Africa and ordering over and over again hits my pockets with all the shipping, plus my curreny is of much less value than dollars, so it "costs" me more than the average American
I am getting a tumb tip, what else will I have to buy?

For Volume 2:
3 lengths of rope A picture of a champagne bottle A bottle of champagne A large envelope A specialty deck of cards though a normal deck will do A few bills of different denominations 2 silks A hallow egg A real egg Linking Rings Paper bag Vanishing Coke bottle Balloon Newspaper Champagne Glass A 4 1/2 of Diamonds I think that's it. |
