First of all I have to make clear that I do not work with puppets (at least not yet), however the other day I stumbled across the following guy: http://mrdeadguy.com/
I loved his whole appearance and also most of his puppets, however I got the impression that one could have made more out of it, because to my likings there is a discrepancy between the overall "horror-like" appearance on the one hand and the "very" tame subjects of his acts on the other hand? So what I would like to know is a) am I the only one getting this impression? b) are there other puppeteers who are working more on the "bizarre" side and if so, who are they?

I've been a puppeteer for over 35 years, and I used to be part of a YahooGroup http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bizarrepup......up&slk=3
There were some interesting puppetmakers in the group, but, according to the site, it really hasn't been active for close to three years. As to "Mr. Dead Guy," his act seems more in the lines of the magician-juggler who does an undead zombie-like character. I consider "Achmed the Dead Terrorist" more frightening.

Got my tickets for the show in Vancouver June 11th! Jeff is one of VERY few performers I would pay that much to see.

As far as I know, he only has two stops in Canada, Vancouver and Edmonton. I hate the thought of spending that much money for two tickets, but my wife isn't giving me any choice!

Well, he's not "Mr. Dead Guy"
…but I love my "living impaired" boy, Vincent Baskerville-Smithe. Thought I'd Introduce him, since we're close to Halloween, and please feel free to join Vincent's Facebook page as his "Friend" http://www.facebook.com/baskervillesmithe?v=info&ref=profile Magically, Walt (The Baron Saturn) |

I wanted to turn my extra figure into something bizarre...but before I even had the chance, a TV show got me to do an evil type role in their show. I of course used the extra head but with not much changes in his looks...maybe I can just add some bulging eyeballs using a pair of eyes from Mike Brose.
This will be aired locally this Saturday http://wanlu99.multiply.com/photos/album......#photo=7 That's me as the old ventriloquist stoned to death...and my evil figure LUWAN who eventually avenged my death... At the end of the show, I go back as myself with my figure Nicolo. I love Achmed...and kids here are not scared of him, kids adore him The figures and character posted above are all COOL figures and their owners gave much thought on the characters and looks. We should respect that by not making clones...let us think of a unique way to make our own different bizarre characters The Ded Bob show is very ingenious...no problem with lip control and his manipulation is very good and it shows how much work the puppeteer did to have a cool act like that. Halloween is just around the corner...now I have a new character to bring LUWAN..the "Puppet na malupet" (Cruel Puppet)
