Maybe it is best putting down ones self instead of making fun of someone else.

The audience likes it better than you putting them down.

Stuff like that can be hilarious. One line I use a lot that gets a laugh is to tell them that you can always tell a bad magician as they will be the ones asking you to "pick a card, any card". I then immediately fan the deck and ask them to pick a card, any card. It's not a huge laugh, but everyone seems to like it.

I am looking for any kind of gag and any day objects, etc. Which is funny!!!!
Can you suggest any "The Donster" Here another one. You get a felt pen and you take out the guts from the pen and you then replace it with a black shoe lace. Feed the lace into the hole as far as it goes and tie a knot in the end. Put the lid back on pen and you are ready to go! So when you pull out your pen to sign a card, etc. You draw a line across your spectators top and the reaction is you have just drawn on their clothes. But then you pull the pen away and they see a pen with a black lace hanging from it. It is funny! |

On this post there some great gags and fill-ins written "The Donster".
Keep it going! But because this post it is on Comedy fill-ins or funny one-liners I didn't want any tangent, I just want it to stay on the subject. Like when someone wrote on page 2, "Why put yourself down in front of your audience"? I didn't want that question to go on forever! Do it elsewhere. To your question "The Donster". What am I looking for; I love magic and the comedy side of it. For me the magic is one thing but getting a laugh is my goal! Like Tommy Cooper. He does his magic but the gags he uses I love that and want to learn more!! I did buy a DVD "Gags 2" by Jim Pace and I was very disoppointed!!! There is a couple of good card trick but if you are looking for gags, Don't buy this tape! (My opinion only) Like surfing "the Magic Café" (This is such a great web site) you pick up so many ideas like on the subject: Have someone hand you a licence plate (a real plate, not just the number) from off stage... read the number and say... you’ve left your lights on. After showing an egg whilst doing an egg bag routine] That may not look much to you - but that's a day's work for a chicken! You pull out a pencil and say, "Did you hear about the pencil that broke it's lead? Oh, forget it. It's pointless." You pull out a rope and say, "Did you hear the story about the rope ? No. oh well skip it". I can recomend a little close-up coin trick with a great funny gag at the end. "Nun None by Michael Mode" Keep the gags rolling and the laughter flowing! |

Pull out a toy ship and ask a spectator to shuffle the "deck." (deck of the ship).
I have a deck of cards where the cards are glued together. I ask people to shuffle those as well. I have something that works better than the string in the pen. Due to giving away tricks PM me if you want to know more about it. Ok, now watch this (Point at watch) repeat Watch! Watch! Pull out toy airplane and say: "Did you hear the one about the plane? Its over your head!" Bang your shoes together for some "sole" music. - Brian Nadworny

Joe FEsta my mentor I watched for one entire day pull this gag and EVERYONE laughed. HE taped real dollar bills together and rolled them all up into a roll type ball and said I want to give you some money, after this he would hand them scissors to cut off as much money as you would like (these are the small all silver cheap scissors your 5th grade teacher used you never got to work.) Not these new sharp colorful kind that has different holes in the top. These have two solid same sized circles for the fingers. howver he took off on end of only the blade. When you do this you can open and close the top like regular scissors and people hold them and play with them.
It usually takes a while for them to even realize they cant cut them. One guy even thought it was a magic trick saying I SAW YOU OPEN THEM TOO!!! Im tellin you, Joe did this gag to EVERYONE for so long and NO ONE didn't want to show it to their friends.

Rogerj,
My Grandfather (also named Joe) used to do the same gag with the dollar bills all the time. He would ask waitresses to cut thier own tips from it. Great gag! - Brian

Came up with this just yesterday: While pulling a giant penny from my pocket, I say, "I'm looking for change. Have you got anything smaller than this?" Try it.
