Hi Kerry -
Yes, we are applying peer pressure. At the start of this thread, it sounded like Peter didn't want you using any of his copy. From your side of the story, it sounds like Peter is now letting you use parts of it under certain conditions and credits. It would be helpful if Peter came on here to verify that change in opinion (when he is back from his trip). As of late last night, this is what Peter last said (on the other thread): Quote:
"...but know that as of now, I am unsatisfied with the Captain's excuses and fixes..." It is now time for me to back off until Peter makes a response, because he has expressed the desire to resolve this directly between the two of you, off of the forum. - Donald P.S. Kerry, I do not go by the name "Don." Thank you.

Donald,
Peer pressure? No, rabid dogs, lunging for a kill is more like it. How can you apply peer pressure to someone who asks if it is ok, and changes it when the author says no? No peer pressure needed. While some of the posters I would be glad to call my peers, some are more successful and knowledgeable, some I would not want to be associated with. I do not change due to peer pressure, as any honest person. I changed it because Peter did not like it. While other's opinions are important to me (as is yours), I'll listen to it, weigh it, but not bend to it. Never have, and hopefully never will. Since you responded before I could get off, here is what happened. I don't think I can add anything else. This is difficult since it is being carried on by two threads. On the evening of April 2nd I did put some of his material in a mockup site. I emailed him to look at it and tell me if it was okay. I also had had a thread asking people for suggestions on the site. He did not see the email, and was notified by another Café member (who did the right thing). He responded on April 5th to the original thread here in the Café, but still didn't see the email because it went into his spam folder. He then started a new thread on it. This is when I noticed it because he did not try to contact me. I immediately changed things, and continued to change them (and still will, It is a mockup). He said I should credit him on my site, and I did, with a link to his site even though I changed things dramatically. Now, I imagine he was being sarcastic, but I did it anyway. Truthfully, I still think he thinks I was trying to steal from him. If so I must be pretty stupid since I emailed him and posted the site here and asked for opinions. |

Four years ago I posted this:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......um=44&12 when I also had someone parasiting off of my search data. In this particular case he did it by pretending to critique my website that he will never see, as if he were qualified and knowledgeable to give a valid critique (of any commercial message) and had seen the website. (He was actually using a different one! The entire critique was a fraud just as he is. The real purpose was to steer you to his website where he sold his website building services. Apparently, satisfied customers didn't exists.) Currently, I have someone posted on YouTube claiming to be Magic By Sander but only shows hands! (I have used Magic by Sander as my stage name since 1969. This individual had not been born yet.) Then he tries to lead you off with his booking information. Frankly he has never responded to any correspondence from me. I would have been satisfied at that time if he had used the hyphen in his name on YouTube like he does on his website. It showed a difference between us. But that is a difference he can't afford for the world to know. He is in Norway. (He may be in for some unwelcome surprises. Several decades ago I was on the corporate board of directors of a very large firm there.) Now the criminal intent is more difficult to ignore. Identity theft takes many forms. There is little doubt that with a lack of integrity the theft of other property is hardly rare. That is exactly why I advised four years ago to control access to your information. Don't help the thief! Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

I had part of my website copied and there was not this much trouble getting it taken down.
I found this happened to another member here and contacted him. His entire website was copied, and evidence was left behind that it was copied. You can tell where parts of graphics were brushed over in photoshop.

The two parties involved are apparently in contact with each other and can continue their discussion of this matter in emails or PMs.
