I’ve had the good fortune of checking out this e-book. It’s an excellent resource and full of treasures. It’s got something for everybody, from those wanting lots of fascinating Mentalism history, those who need help with technique, to those who want to make their own NWs, and many, many great routines. It’s a long book, at 172 pages. Tom has worked very hard on this.
I’ve often been disappointed with most booklets I’ve read on the NW. Usually I see the same variation repeated over and over; a tick on a list, a 2 or 3 digit number and not much more. There have been some great ideas out there, but this book really goes into out of the box thinking. I was very impressed with the homemade NW tutorials, all clearly explained. The history of this little gimmick is very thorough; I didn’t know the long evolution of it, totally fascinating. The routines are my favorite part. Paul Brook gives the easiest effect ever, with both psychic and psychological presentations that are thoroughly explained. Mick Ayres has a great effect which really got me thinking about how to do other routines using the same idea. Paolo Cavalli shares an excellent routine which I’m sure everyone will want to try out. Andrew Gerard, Looch and Seth Cauthorne give excellent advice in making the effects look and “feel” better. So many other people to mention really. There are many surprises in the book, guest contributors I wasn’t expecting with some great ideas and thoughts. I won’t mention all the names since there are way too many contributors and they all did an excellent job. I thank Tom and all of them for getting the clockwork spinning in my head with this little gimmick. I won’t describe any of the routines for obvious reasons, we all know what the NW does, but I know people will be very happy with this project. I know Tom will continue to add more routines and ideas to this book, so I’m sure the updates will be worth it. Tom’s a busy guy and despite that, he’s compiled and contributed a wonderful collection of ideas for us that I personally feel will become a classic. I invite everyone to check it out. This is something that needs to become a hardback cover. If you enjoyed the Open Prediction Project, you’ll enjoy this more. For the all the info contained and its completeness, I give it a 10/10.
