This is just too good to not let you know about this, maybe some of you already do. Fooler Doolers puts out Boris Wild's "Mind Scanner", sells for $70, Boris was selling it at Michigan Magic Day last Saturday for $40.00. I great fun trick. However, you can get almost the same thing in smaller version with a "Programmable Message Fan", item 9000991-MMIX, available at Rite-Aid drug stores in the United States for $3.99 plus tax. Wow, even comes with batteries! This thing is a hoot, very easy to program, comes with the batteries. Effect: Force a card on spectator via favorite method (I use the simple bottom cut after false suffle so I know the bottom card). Miss twice getting the chosen card, use all the normal jokes. Say you are getting hot "Is it hot in here?", embarrassed that can't find the card. Turn on the fan (it is blank on program one at that time, so no message is showing), then state if ONLY I could sense like the wind what the card was... (don't look at the fan), then switch the fan to program number two revealing "You Will Choose" in bold red lights, then switch it to then next program preprogrammed message which names the card, then switch it to the last message to say something like "Pretty Cool, eh?" It is a hoot. I have more than one, in case I have to repeat the trick, can have another one all set to go. It only also takes only a minute or so to program, EXTREMELY EASY TO DO SO. I am showing it at Ring 211 in Grand Rapids next Monday night, I purchased as many as I could find locally as I know all the magicians will want to have their own. THIS FAN COULD EASILY PROGRAMMED FOR ANY KIND OF EFFECT, INCLUDING HAVING A VERSE OR MESSAGE ON IT. Any Gospel ideas? Again, this is a very expensive yet fun way to "reveal" or card or any message by the use of a small, portable fan with very bright, thick letters on it. Just an electronic marvel for sure. Was listed on the internet before for between $20 and $9.95, plus postage, see "Weird Gifts- Programmable Message Fan" on the internet. This fan holds up to 64 letters, easily changeable, and includes numbers and some symbols (including a heart, plus and minus signs, @, !, ?, etc.). If you have a Rite-Aid by your house, go check it out- usually where the seasonal summer stuff is like Flip Flops or in the clock/batteries/cell phone section. Plus, you can use it to cool your face down!

Whoops, I meant to type a great INEXPENSIVE trick, was typing fast... But I can't recommend enough your picking up one or two "Programmable Message Fans" at Rite-Aid in your area for $3.99 each, this little cute safe fan has lots of fun magic routine applications for sure... Any of you out there have one? I love mine, keeping three of them already, going to put it in my close-up "act"(if you can call it that) right away. Have a great day all!

I just picked up 5 for myself. I don't understand what you mean by "it is blank on program one at that time". I guess I'll have to read the directions again. But is is really a great deal and easy to use.

The fan has FOUR diffent "sets" of programs, each 16 letters. It switches from program to program when you push the middle buttom. I leave program #1 with no letters on it, totally blank. So when I turn the fan on, it displays NO LETTERS of any kind. I use it to "cool myself" down as I am embarrassed I don't know the card. When I secretly push the middle button again, then it goes to the message on program number two ("you picked"), then I push it again to #3 which reveals the card, and push it again to #4 for the final message (mine says "Pretty Cool, eh?"). So the fan "does" the trick, I am kinda amazed as well, not aware this is happening. But lots of uses, a really, really cute little prop for sure, a bargain! But I like having nothing on the fan when I first turn it on, it is neat to then LATER have the letters appear on it. This is a feature the light up chest pin or other similar light up effects, etc., probably do not have, makes this normal fan even better in my view.

I purchased two of the fans yesterday, one in reddish orange and one in black, so I can tell which one I'm using (Hearts for the red one, black for Spades). It looks great.
Now, I just have to buy some cards. (I know, I could use coins or other objects)
