Witch are better? The deluxe cards or the ultra thin cards? Are Nielsen cards for palming or fanning or both? Witch deck does Norm use in his act? If you know anything else that can help, pls tell me.And sorry for my spelling mistakes. |

Well if I have to be honest,i am 13 and from Bulgaria and I don't think that mister Nielsen is going to take me seriously.Norm Nielsen is my idol and I don't have the courage to "just" call him.

Norm sells 2 types of cards, one thinner than the other, they are very matt, no shine on them are are good if ya experienced manipulator, but becoz your young, and I remember when I was young and starting to manipulate cards you may have problem with sweaty hands, these cards are a nightmare with sweaty hands, depends what you wanna use them for.
best to work some normal beige coloured backed cards in with a pencil, and use them, best books I know of, are pat pages big bok of magic and ian adirs television card manipulations if you can find them. hope this is of some help, if your not sure email norm, his wife lupe will prob email you back, she is very nice, and I'm sure norm will take you very seriously if you are showing an intrsest in magic. |

I have many versions of the Norm Nielsen Manipulation Cards. I prefer the cards sold for $5.00 a deck. This means you have to buy the Fanning Powder and treat them yourself, but the other deck will need treatment anyway.
These cards are mainly for back palming so you can perform split fan productions. If you are looking for cards used for a Fanning demonstration, typically these cards have a multi color back design, that show a colorful stream of color with the fan of cards. |

Red Backed Bees are the way to go to start manipulating.

I have the $7.00 Nielsen deck and I love it. Manipulations can be frustrating when you're first learning, and my personal experience was that in learning the basics with Norm's deck, I was then able to use those skills with a Bicycle deck later on. I actually prefer the Nielsen cards for the manipulation act anyway, and they're what I use.
The McBride series is great! I own it and it's definitely a good way to get into manipulating cards.

The Darker cards have a nice thickness to them, but do not fan quite as well as the ultra thin cards in my experience, but some say it is the other way round.

I believe the dark/deluxe cards are slightly better for single backpalm productions because of the slightly increased thickness but the difference is pretty minimal compared to the thin cards. I prefer the thin cards for split fan productions. I agree with everyone else though: learn manipulation first with bees.

Just go with the bees!
They are much more durable and cheaper! Norm Neilson makes fine products mind you! I just learned with bees so manip cards are too thin for me. Just my opinion! Best Brandon

I still do left handed fans without four corners.
The audience knows they are cards early on. Its all a preference really. Just try both.
