I looked over those photos...and enjoyed the trip down memory lane. I remember those days well.

You always add very clever twists that take 'common' effects and makes them quite uncommon and personal, so I'm thrilled to know you are still plugging away and perform every chance you get. And that's the name of the game, isn't it?

I really like the common theme in the design of your props (bold stars on the blue field). May I ask...do you use your magic-guitar in an effect?

I'm going to try my best to make it to SCAMCON this winter ... travel is hard on me. I hear rumors that Dave Tanner is trying to organize a Myrtle Beach convention. Hope to see you again - if you get the chance to come back to the beach, make sure you look me up ... I'll be at Barefoot Landing six nights a week all summer long.

I remember the details about your cig-routine like it happened yesterday, JoeJoe. That's a great example of what I meant when I said you put great twists into your magic to make it personal.

If I recall correctly, for a while there (in your comedy club days) you experimented with some original jumbo deck flourishes, too.

Like you, travel is difficult for me. The latest scuttlebutt is the SCAMCON and the new Myrtle Beach Convention are now scheduled for the same weekend in January. Go figure. Oh well, attending either one will be a challenge.

I would love to break bread with you someday soon, JoeJoe. It would be grand to catch up.

Yes, I used to do a few jumbo flourishes ... my deck wore out, and it is harder to replace a jumbo deck - wal-mart doesn't carry them; neither do the local magic shops. It was never my "best" material, so I just phased it out.

Well that's dumb to schedule them on the same weekend, although I am somehow not surprised it would happen that way. Hopefully, we'll both end up at the same one - would love to see you again.
