I've decided to release an effect I developed 25 years ago and used
in my professional act for years. For once it is NOT a card or mental effect.

It is an improved version of the Ken Bowells old Squircle effect but
with a new way of making the paper and with a new kicker ending.

A sheet of paper is removed from a tabloid. The sheet is folded in
quarters and a small 2 inch square is cut from the folded corner (in
the original squircle, the paper is just folded in half and a circle
is cut out). The cut out square is opened out to show a 4" square
and refolded and LEFT IN FULL VIEW.

The sheet is now unfolded once so the paper is only folded in half
revealing half a square or rectangular shape. With the paper still
folded in half, the half square VISIBLY changes to a half circle
(you can't do that with the original trick)! The paper is unfolded
showing a complete cut-out circle in the middle. Now for the kicker.
The small cut out square piece is picked up allowing the audience to
see the square corners it is waved in the air and the corners turn
rounded. It is opened out and seen to be a circle which matches the
cut-out hole in the paper.

With the old squircle trick you have to watch angles as double edges
of the paper could be seen at the top or bottom if tilted toward the
audience. With my improvements ALL edges of the paper is a SINGLE
sheet so if tilted forward only a single edge will be seen. The
directions also show how to apparently show all sides of the paper
both before and after the trick.

Yes I even show you how to LEAVE THE PAPER with the audience at the end of the effect for complete examination.

Complete details on how to make this up along with a sample paper.
Out in Mid-June and Murphy's is the official distributor.

$19.95 but I'm sure dealers will discount it down to $17.95 or less.

Here is the official blog. I've added in a bonus effect:

Effect: Do not confuse this with the old Squircle effect. Although similar, this is a greatly improved version. A double sheet of newspaper is shown on both sides. It is folded into quarters and a small 2” square is cut from a folded corner. (In the original Squircle, a double sheet of newspaper is folded in half and a semicircle is cut out.) The 2” square is unfolded showing it is actually a 4” inch square.

The double sheet of newspaper is partly unfolded. Instead of the expected rectangular shape, the audience sees a semicircle! (You cannot do this with the old Squircle.) The newspaper is completely unfolded revealing a cutout circle in the middle!

For an additional kicker, the small cutout square is waved in the air. The corners suddenly turn round. This small piece is fully opened and seen to be a circle. This cutout circle perfectly matches the circular hole in the newspaper. Even the print on the cutout circle matches the rest of newspaper proving this was cut from that newspaper!

Bonus Mental Effect: The performer has a participant select a card from an ESP deck. The participant retains the card, but he does not look at the symbol on it. The performer shows a sheet of newspaper and claims he will cut out a design that will match the symbol on the unknown card. The performer cuts out a square. The participant shows his selected ESP card; it is a circle. It appears the performer has failed.

The performer says, “That is exactly what I predicted, a circle.” Before the participant can protest, the performer opens up the sheet of newspaper revealing a cutout circle. The performer’s prediction is correct!
