I thought I would show a couple of wands I made. You would not use these for the push through vanish but they do look sharp. I hand cut all of my own lace out of Kangaroo and shape the wood. These are based on designs I use for walking sticks.
This first wand is made of apple wood and has a braid of 24 strands with a diamond pattern in it. You would not think it possible but there is over 12 feet of lace used of each color. The second wand is made of maple and has a grape vine braid on it with pineapple knots. the wood actual turned out to be a shade of gray. If anybody would like to see some shots you can take a look at my photo album at http://s586.photobucket.com/albums/ss301/aiki10940/ Not all of the shots came out as good as I would have liked. But they give an idea of the wands. Let me know what you guys think of them. I will probably end up selling these to some Wicca practitioners to recover the cost of the materials.

Aiki… What wonderful wands, I enjoyed looking at all the pictures and nice Cups too. How long does it take you to make a wand?
Thanks, Bruce |

Bruce,
The cups are the Phoenix cups. For me to make a wand it really depends on the design I choose to do. The wand with the grape vine braid took about four hours in total. This includes the cutting of the lace and the shaping of the wand. The other wand with the diamond pattern took about 6 hours in total. I could cut this time down but I had a couple of hours a night to work on these and every time I got started I had to stop. If I could of work on them for longer periods of time I would have been able to cut a hour or so out. thanks for taking a look.

Those are great wands. Congratulations on them. I used to have a set of those cups and I gave them away to a magician who had lost all his stuff but I cant remember why now.
Anyway, great work. -=tabman
