Here's a video of a performance where I had the opportunity to perform my "Stars" routine under blacklights. We lit the stage but nothing but blacklights except for one small spotlight to light up my face. It causes a neat effect - a little too ominous for the trick in my opinion, so I won't be doing it like this all the time - but it really makes the paper pop out.

I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more, then I cried again because that was so much more better than my version. Great job!

That is the first time I saw the snow storm presented as something other then the snow storm and I have to say I realy liked it. The story seemed to fit your character well. I think you are wrong about the Black light, It was NOT too much for this routine. I would continue to use it, It made the effect that much better. Great Job, I would love to see more of your routine Keep posting

So Michael, are you not using the stool anymore? I loved that ending...

Everyone, thanks for the compliments. Scott, I moved the stool to another spot in the show. With the closing line of this routine, it's a nice punctuation to the routine and actually ends the show.
I liked having the stool at the end of the stars routine because - really - who's going to end a snowstorm in china with bottoms up barstool!? BUT - I feel like it fits better earlier in the show. Also, I only perform the stool when I drive to shows. For flying shows, the stool is too big to fly with. |
