I haven't heard of either one. I use Dusheck's Ringer. If you want simplicity, and the fact that the spectator's ring will be safe, then it's hard to beat.

I like Departed because it looks like a car alarm remote and I borrow a key. Makes more sense than borrowing a ring to end up on my key chain.

Securing the ring is so important.
I remember working a bar with another magician (Magic Bob) who was doing Ring Flight when he pulls the keychain out of his pocket and says "Your ring is in my car...etc." But when he looked at the keychain - NO RING! Fortunately there were two of us and I searched the floor behind him while he stalled. The bar was very busy, but I found the DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING on the floor in the corner, under a table by the entrance where no one was sitting (no chairs). The ring must have flown right off the clip while it was travelling to the back pocket. There was enough inertia to send it travelling over 10 feet. I swore that night that I would never do the trick. I don't know if he still does? |

With either device, has anyone had success with other keys on device being used in some way? Matbe Spookey or some other effect?
