Not sure where this fits but I am looking to my fellow magicians for some ideas. Here is the effect.
let me try to type this out for you. Start of the effect myself and my partner Quincy are on stage. I do not have the patter even close to worked out, but 3 bags are on the stage, one marked –suspects-weapons-location just as in the game clue. The 2 bags are brought into the audience and 2 people who are sitting close to each other will be selected. The first bag is opened and in my hand I show the 6 people from clue that are in figurine form. All 6 are then dropped into the bag and shook up, the 1st spectator is asked to pick one and hold it in their hand….this same procedure is used for the weapons as well. ( still working on the locations aspect ) Once all three people have selected one of the objects they get a Clue suspect card so they can mark who the murderer is. All the while Quincy is on stage dressing people up in costumes related to the characters in clue. The people on stage are then invited to walk over to a table and select a real size weapon that matches the ones that were dropped in the bad ( all be it smaller of course) Then they are show 9 marks on the floor, each mark has the name of a location aka the kitchen the lounge, when they are done 6 of the spots will be taken up and 3 left open as there are 9 locations and 6 suspects. I will then start to have fun and move then around, telling professor plumb that he was seen in the lounge and move him to that spot and switch him with whoever is in the lounge..then sat that the maid was there to and that explains the rope..kinky people..so on and so forth till there in one person left on stage, holding a weapon standing in front of a place card and dressed as a character..then the revel is made. so my question is how to go about the location. I want to stay away from Cards at all cost. So I have just the clue board to use. I was thinking of doing a " Clip it" idea but not sure. there are the conditions that must be met for this effect 1. No cards 2. The Fo*** must be clean and no funky props. For the Suspects and Weapons I will be using paper bags. ( so I would liek to keep it close to the same ) So..any help would be wonderful, PM me with ideas please. |

Michael,
I just read last week someone is coming out with a Clue effect with audience participation. I'll try and find that so you can see what they have. -Ron |

How about cutting out the rooms from an old cluedo board?

Michael, I believe if you get this version you can adopt or enhance the performance. Yes, his version may be straight forward but you can dress it up. His climax to name the killer is terrific and is a stunner. Any name can be thought of as the killer and you name him/her without even opening the envelope. This blows away the spectators.
I bought it and am glad I did as it will work for small, medium or large size audiences. -Ron |
