Hi Oliver, I understood what you meant when saying it could be done for as few as 3 people but just thought I'd clear it up in case someone thought they could perform the trick for a few friends in a casual setting.
AFA is simply computer abbreviation for "as far as". One last tip regarding the trick, nothing revolutionary by any means but I performed it last night and decided to have an audience volunteer hold the deck for me until time to reveal it. I placed it in a white sealed envelope ala Levent rather than modifying a card case and that seemed to work very well. Those that know the Cody Fisher routine will understand what I am referring to. I use this routine, and I LOVE it! In fact, I recommend anything from Cody Fisher. His routines are so well thought out, and extremely commercial. Real workers! They way I use this routine is exactly how Cody wrote it up. Except that, I actually mail the client the BW Deck prior to the event. Then during the show I throw out the paper balls and have a card selected. Then I call attention to the client and have him/her bring up the envelope. They open it and hand it to me, and I reveal the card. My patter suggests that I "had a dream" about 3 people selecting a card together, and I woke up and reversed the card in a deck and sealed it in a envelope. It adds a whole different dimension to the effect, and it kills! I HIGHLY recommend this routine for any platform performer. Now, please forget what I just wrote!

I love the routine as well. One thing to remember. Look around before you toss out the paper balls. During oudoor shows, I've had the balls literally "disappear" under bushes, decks attached to gazebos. I even had one of the balls scooped up and eaten by a family dog. The dog couldn't name a value for the card, so I had someone else name it. LOL! Had to wait till the next day for the final revelation!

I just bought and read it! Very clever! The only thing I have to adjust is the "of". We Germans don't say 10 of Hearts, we just say Hearts 10.
Any ideas ? |

Or.. The first paper could read "Hearts" the second could read "Ten" and the last could be an actual drawing of the Ten of Hearts. That way even if you have folks in the crowd that may speak a language other than German, or English, it's illustrated so everyone can understand.

Perhaps when you do the reveal, you could just start with the color ... then go for the number or suit.

Thank you all.
Mac: I like the english language a lot. And its much simpler. In german we have 3 ways of saying "the": male, female, neutral. (Der, die, das) That applies also to cards! (ace = neutral, numbers & Queen = feminine, jack& king = male) STRANGE, heh? Aaron: great idea! And even if they do speak the language! Some people don't know how a 10 of hearts looks like! Had this happen severla times with card tricks. I came up with a kind of recap what happened on the first paper, concluding with: and the card is... |

After the positive feedback left here, I had to get it. It "reads" very good, I'll have to take it for a test spin.
