This was the most appropriate forum I could find for this....
I'm going to be in Vegas for a few days in July and I plan to bore my girlfriend to tears with magic. Can anyone recommend a good magic store or two in Vegas? I see the Houdini shops in hotels but I'm wondering if there's any other good shops to visit, places where magicians hang out, anything of that sort? I actually used to LIVE in Vegas and have seen about every show on the strip, but it never occurred to me to branch out and see what else there is to offer.... Thanks! Andrew

Denny and Lee's -- a great store and the only one you'll really need to visit.

I thought they were in Vegas, and then went to the website and wasn't able to find an address anywhere. Some more searching lead me to a Myspace page with directions and hours though. I'm looking forward to seeing the store. Thanks bugjack!

Denny & Lee's is the place to visit. Also, if you get a chance, there's a place called Boomer's off the strip that the locals hang out on, I believe, Wednesday nights. It's a great after hours place where you can see the likes of Bob Kohler and Alan Ackerman doing stuff just to practice.

Yeah I'd heard about Boomer's, I'll have to look it up and see. I'm see Lance Burton's show on a Wednesday night so maybe I'll head over there after that.
Thanks for the advice!

Denny and Lee's is on Dean Martin Blvd. Cross the interstate at tropicana and immediately take the service road left, watch closely, it sneaks up on you, it is in a center set back a bit from Dean Martin.
There are magic shops at the Riveria and at the The Stratosphere. Both have a lot of pitch magic, but a few "box" magic effects as well.

I'm looking forward to checking it out! Denny was the first guy I ever saw perform card manipulations live and I was totally blown away. It made for an excellent first trip to the castle...very memorable stuff.
Thanks for the directions, Father Photius! I think I know which road that is...right next to an IHOP if I'm not mistaken.
