After seeing some of Christopher's videos, I decided to go on a 400 mile pilgrimage to see his show in Dallas.
We got there early enough to catch his table strolling before the main show began. His card handling is second to none. It wasn't a series of the same old packet tricks--This was the real deal! It would impress even the finest of card workers. Insist on seeing his fork-bending routine--Mind blowing! Way over this magician's head--a real fooler. I am positive he pulled that fork off of my wife's plate. (She brought the twisted result back home as souvenir--just don't tell the restaurant management.) Christopher started his cabaret show with a flawless presentation of the classic linking rings, jumbo size. Once you've seen this opening, you realize the high level of talent to expect for the rest of the show. Throughout his show you will see a number of the classics with his own special twist and humor. Christopher's silent Miser's Dream with a child assistant was a big crowd pleaser and it was HILARIOUS!! This is one of many audience participation routines that continue to keep the audience engaged and enraptured. Throughout there was always something a little unexpected. Let me warn you--Do not attempt to question his abilities as a hypnotist as his audience would surely dismiss you as a lunatic. It was easily proven with his rendition of the Mighty Mini Light Heavy Chest when he has a large strapping man robbed of his strength through hypnosis. His expertise in audience management was evident. He had the audience and volunteer under his full control and they never suspected it. I guarantee you that no one in that audience was focused on the box, but simply convinced of Christopher's hypnotic powers. He concluded his act with a touching tribute to his wife, followed by a mesmerizing Snow Storm routine. The music choice for this was right on perfect. It was a heartwarming wrap-up to the show. Christopher Lyle's show was a well-blended series of polished routines, highlighted with expert comedic timing--the result was a memorable evening of entertainment. Christopher, thanks for the fantastic show! Very well done my friend. Gimpy

Gimpy, that Mighty Mini is a fine piece of magical aparatus, and in the hands of Mr Lyle, is a mind blowing effect. I hope you enjoyed the visit to the "Big D".
I just have to chime in here and say a few words about Christopher too. This may seem random, or impromtu. But Mr. Lyle has a few other attributes worth mentioning, and I think a small show of appreciation may be a fine thing to do. So, as we experience an evening with Christopher Lyle, let us raise a glass ( or coffe mug as it were) to a fine man and magician!! I have now known Christopher for over a year, and I could not have found a better friend and mentor hands down. Having spent countless hours in his home and in the field, Christopher has been incredibly generous with his time and personal instruction. By far, the best teacher a guy could ever ask for. I am very blessed to call him my friend. Although he is a very busy working performer, he goes the extra mile like no one I know. He has taken time to teach, both young and old learners, and we all have benefited from the seemingly endless magical knowledge and skill he shares. I can honestly say that Christopher has helped me achieve a level of competency I never would have achieved in so short a time had I not had this guy in my corner. I know 2 other students of his who would say the same, and perhaps more. He has made me a true working table hopper, except that my tables are stretchers, and my patrons are children in the hospital. He has taught a man to fish, and this has a rippling effect into the lives of the deserving patients I touch with my magic. The way I see it, God brings people together for a purpose, and for that I am grateful eternally. He also is a dedicated Husband, to a wonderful lady who is a great supporter of his art, and the core of a beautiful family. This may be revealing a bit much, but afternoon sessioning is carefully worked around his duties as Mr. Mom, when the Mrs. is at the office. You see, it is a great and rare thing to be able to raise your own children in your own home, and in the parenting department, The Lyles are a real team. Jen's cookies are pretty awesome too! I usually get a couple as a parting gift which is a gentle hint that the afternoon session is nearly over. She also had the final word on whether my ninja routine was ready. No better judge than a magician's wife to check your slights. So, here's to the Miraculous Magic of Christopher and Jen Lyle, and the gifts they share to bring magic into the world. ..Thanks from a very grateful apprentice. Rob

Etats,
Your comment is rude and unwarranted. This forum was built to encourage, inform, and educate magicians such as yourself. As a new user, you may wish to take time to think before posting. If you would spend more time reading, you'll find that most people here are kind and encouraging. This is very helpful to the Art. Constructive criticism is welcome by all. So I will give you some. You never know who might help you in the future. Spend your time posting here, at least for a bit, helping us with your knowledge of the art, and we will gladly reciprocate. Gimpy
