My Daddy was a fire eater.

I have some serious questions for anyone who knows. I'm just being curious.

With modern fabrics and materials and all that, just how heavy are modern firefighter suits? Also, what material are they made of and how good are they at keeping out the heat? And do the modern suits most commonly in use have any sort of cooling system built in?

One of my cousins became an officer in the fire department of some sort and was the official rep at conventions. He had a ball. If you ever become a black fire fighter let me know, I have an 'in' with the black fire fighters association.

I am also a Fire fighter it is a very rewarding and at times exhausting job.

the fire fighter "suit" is about 75lbs with all the gear on.
No there is NO cooling system in place
It is made of Nomex Material
and it is very good at keeping the heat out.
