Hi
I have started to do this trick ages ago, but for the part 5 years, it has been out of my repertoire. I would love to do it again but I am a bit bored with the usual story line. Pick a card.... rub ash on my arms... here's your card! How do you present it? Do you have a nice story behind it, to make it more spiritual or spooky. Any idea welcome Thanks P |

(do the standard dirty work.... "Hands, a little closer") I then used a piece of flash paper, draw a hand. Ask for spectator's initals and would write them in the middle of the drawn palm.
I then would ask if they believed in 'Voodoo' (response, play off that) and would tell them to hold up their fist high and not to move and it will not hurt. (builds drama & gets a suspense-type reaction) light the flash paper (always gasps) and then ask if they felt anything?... Whatever the response, slowly miminicing moving hand, palm-side up, and slowing opening the hand. (silence, bow)
Theater, cinemas, and literature are all better forums for telling stories or creating drama. Stand-up comedy is better for telling jokes. But magic is unique in creating the Twilight Zone sense of turning a corner and finding yourself on another street, in another town, in another country. Deception is the means to that end. –John Bannon
