I recommend Danny Tong's DVD or lecture notes he is a pioneer in table magic,,
every thing he does is reset when he finishes each table and incorporates the use of borrowed money in his presentation to increase tip !!! he is old school but what a way to build a strong foundation !! restaurant work that WORKS !!! |

I would recommend my new 'Jingle' combined with Mb's 3easy since these train the spectator on how to watch your hands and coins and set up many later sleights by establishing effective Patterns of Performance.
You can have mine free if you own his. Just send a message as below.

TrickyChaz, method should really be kept for Secret Sessions thread, though that particular method has been published several times as a method for a card to pocket or wallet. Paul. [/quote] I don't feel that he has given to much away here. I'm actually glad he posted that, I'm going to give it a shot! I love simple, direct effects like that. Thank you so much TrickyChaz for mentioning it. I will PM you after I use it and let you know how it is received. That is, of course, if you don't mind. I assume that if your posting it here, you won't mind if we use it. Anyhow, I'm going to list many sources for table hopping, I will include some that have already been mentioned for clarity. 1.) The Restaurant Magic Of Dan Fleshman Volumes 1-3 ( L&L Publishing) 2.) The Restaurant Workers Handbook by Jim Pace (EXCELLENT Book!) 3.) David Stone The Real Secrets of Restaurant Magic Volumes 1 & 2 DVD's 4.) Dan Tong Finally 1&2 5.) Stevens Greater Magic Video "Restaurant Magic" 6.) Magic Menu (Jim Sisti) 7.) Paul Green "In the Trenches" (Amazing dvd, a MUST have!) 8.) Michael Close Workers series (Books are much better) 9.) Justin Miller Strolling Hands (Least favorite of the bunch) 10.) R. Paul Wilson "The Restaurant Act" DVD (This dvd is REALLY good) 11.) Bill Malone "On The Loose" Volumes 1-4 (L&L Publishing) 12.) The Richard Sanders Show Volumes 1-3 (These are a MUST have!) 13.) Eric DeKamps "Stars of Magic" video (Really, Really good material) This list should really get you going. All of the dvd's have excellent material on them. I own them all and I use a great deal of material from each of them. With the exception of Justin Miller's dvd's. Justin's dvd's are good to get idea's, but his actual routines use way, way to many gimmicks and are to drawn out. But he is a fine performer and has some decent ideas to build off of. As far as everything else you need to know about working restaurants, pick up Jim's book. It contains everything you need to know about working restaurants. And it also includes some fine routines seperated into openers, middles, and closers. It is a must have book for the restaurant worker, along with Magic Menu's by Jim Sisti. I hope that I have been helpful, and please feel free to PM anytime if you have any questions regarding restaurant magic. I've been doing it for quite a while. Good luck! Best, Aaron |
