Quite a number of words are given by the audience and a story is then produced using these words. In this particular one, a 'strong' box has been hanging and a container inside has the story. I have seem this effect (I think Copperfield and others), but an assistant is used to do the dirty work. In this case I did not see the sw*tc*.

I pretty sure it is a marketed effect.

I believe you are talking about a variation on Alan Shaxon's "Confabulation."

The Zimmerman Master Prediction or Postcards from the Road effect would produce the same results for you.
