I wanted to share my experience with Johnson products. I have a Brass Johnson Wand that I purchased second hand. I was practicing with it and it fell and the threaded plastic screw where the pieces connect broke.
I contacted Johnson Products and spoke with a very nice woman who said they had not made the Brass wand in a few years. After checking, she said go ahead and send it in and they would see what they could do. I sent the wand last monday. Today from UPS arrived a brand new wand with Brass fittings now instead of the old plastic fitting. The box came with a letter of apology from Johnson. Needless to say I have nothing but the highest praise for Johnson Products Inc and their stellar service. I would like to thank both Sam Laporte and Kathy Lawton from Johnson for helping me out. Keep in mind I sent in a wand that was more than a few years old, broken, with no receipt or proof of purchase. One week later I have a brand new wand and a letter saying sorry. Some of the best customer service I have ever received! |

Wow! Thanks for sharing. These days nobody ever talks about great customer service. It's all negative. This company did this wrong or that person did that. Glad to hear it.

They've been like that since the beginning and Im glad to hear that they continue on with great customer service. I once had a quarter shell come apart and they replaced it no questions asked. This is great to hear.

I really like hearing this. There is a famous magician/owner of a magic shop/web site that I refuse to deal with because of his rotten attitude, but Johnson isn't it!
Thanks again! Sir Richard.

Johnson Products is a class act. A few years ago, there were several of their chop cups that came through with a fine raised line around the outside that just didn't belong there. They exchanged them without question.

I've only heard good things about Johnson Products. I'm a big fan!
However, I have heard that magicians are not their primary client. Supposedly, the make all sorts of other weird stuff. Bill, any insight here? |

I'm not sure what you mean by "weird stuff." All I know them for is their magic products.
The old Rings and Things, according to Mike Brazill, made military products and chalices for churches.

Jonhson Products has great stuff. They are really nice people and will go out of their way to help you. You probably spoke with Kathy who usually answers their line.
I still think their Kennedy Expanded Sh**l is the best bang for the buck. I also love their Silver Copper Brass set. Glad you had a first class experience. TC |

You are correct, magicians are not their only clients. It is my understanding that in addition to manufacturing magic props Johnson Products is somehow involved in the aerospace industry.

It's good to see that they finally have a web site. Two years ago, when I wrote the article about the history of the cups used in the cups and balls for the Yankee Collector, I had a very difficult time getting in touch with them.
However, once I contacted them, they were very eager to be of help.

That was my understanding as told from the owner of Texas Magic Supply. I had inquired about getting a set of cups after winning a gift certificate to their shop. Unfortunately, Texas Magic Supply could not get me a set, and yet again, my efforts to secure a set of these cups was thwarted.

As I have posted previously, Johnson Products went into business offering a Lifetime Guarantee. I have used this service with a shell coin to silver, copper, brass coin effect.
I got the same wonderful results. They are a wonderful company. They seem to always take time out of their busy work of making money, to take care of the magician needs. |

I don't understand why Texas Magic Supply couldn't get a set of Johnson Cups for you. I don't know whether Johnson has a minimum order. It could be that they needed to order at least, say, three sets, in order to get a normal discount.

I did hear from a magic shop owner Johnson does behind in making tricks because they are busy making their aerospace products.

I don't know why they would be behind in making magic stuff. The Aerospace program has crawled to a halt down here.

My 'working' cups are either my Foxy II when I'm doing close up or my Johnson's. What a wonderful set of cups they are.
