If you liked my old version, then you will love the newest version. Even better than the old version. As many of you know Hocus Pocus and myself totally sold out of the old version. I improved the routine and added an additional picture. Although it was expensive, many people requested if I did a reprint to make the picture of the magician when he was two on the same high quality plastic card stock as the baby gag card was printed. That has been done and this picture is now 8.5 x 11 on the plastic card stock. On the flip side is another picture gag I have added to the routine. A gag that is seldom seen nowadays and makes the perfect finish to the routine. With Michael Jackson's death I had to revise the directions, take out some old gags (no longer suitable)and add in a new one that has been playing well.
The routine still has a reference to Jackson. I have been using this new routine for the last couple of weeks and the Jackson stuff is playing well. In fact I have found with Jackson being in the news so much, that when someone is asked to call out a famous person living or dead...a lot of them say Jackson. This sets you up for the routine perfectly. It is available now only from Hocus Pocus and myself. It is a Hocus Pocus exclusive. Here is official blurb from Hocus Pocus. SUPER DELUXE BABY-GAG ROUTINE Don't confuse this with the earlier Baby Gag that Devin released. This is a NEWER and even better version! If you liked Devin's earlier release, then wait until you see the new improvements. You get seven sure-fire laughs. Includes a new kicker ending using a new added picture not in the original release. Devin Knight has reworked this old gag for today's audiences with new up to date topical gags and jokes NOT found in other baby gag routines. Designed with the professional in mind. This is the comedy routine that Devin Knight uses before he gets into his more hard-hitting mentalism. It is almost non-stop laughter from the moment it starts until the final gag that packs a double wallop. The routine is suitable for magic acts, MCs, and comedy clubs. It makes the perfect comedy opening for a serious mentalism act. Effect: The performer says he wants to try some quick psychic experiments. He begins with a comedy number prediction, proving he thought of the same number the participant did(???). Next, he asks anyone to name a famous living person. Assume that person says, Tom Hanks. Performer shows an envelope and says Tom Hanks photo is inside. He takes out a picture of Tom Hanks when he was a baby. "Last night someone said, President Obama, no problem." The performer turns the photo over. On the other side is a picture of a black baby. This is where the standard gag ends, but Devin's deluxe routine takes it even further. A new sight-gag is then done with the Obama baby picture that will bring the house down with laughter. It is TOO good to tip the gag in this ad, but it has never been used before with the baby gag. This gag alone is worth the price of the routine. Performer says, "Last week someone named Michael Jackson." The performer immediately goes into an additional sight-gag with the photo that will leave the audience in stitches. This is followed by yet another punch line to add to the laughter. Next, the performer offers to show the audience a photo of himself when he was a child. The photo that follows is even funnier than the baby gag photo, adding another comedy kicker to this laugh-filled routine. It doesn't stop there. The performer says, "If you think these kids are cute, you should see MY kids." He turns over the photo showing another photo of his kids which generates even more laughter. AN OLD PROBLEM SOLVED: What happens if someone names, An Asian, a Hispanic or Native American? With this routine you are covered. If someone names Jackie Chan, you produce a photo that is funnier than the original baby gag. It is a gag not used before in this routine. Fully audience tested, with every gag and line a PROVEN LAUGH-GETTER. REAL FULL-COLOR PHOTOS are used, not cartoon drawings, because real photos get better response from audiences. The baby gag cards are supplied on a high quality PLASTIC photo-card stock. Designed to withstand years of performances. If the card gets dirty, wipe it off with a damp cloth. Comes complete with manila envelope with the comedy number prediction, TWO 8.5" x 11" plastic photo-card in full-color,the gag photo of the performer when he was child, plus the picture of your kids is now supplied on the same 8.5 x ll plastic stock as the baby gag card. Includes the complete performance script detailing every gag and punchline, plus additional jokes you can use in the routine. The routine takes into account recent events and has been updated to reflect this. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REAL WORLD TESTED prior to this new release. |

Devin,
I'm still thinking about buying this and I was going to PM you to address the Michael Jackson (death) situation. I was going to ask if the Jackson gags would be appropriate since his death. But, being the intelligent & creative person that you are, it seems that you already addressed this moral situation. As soon as I can free up some loot, I want to get this & the Glass Box Revisited. |

Some of the gags aren't suitable and they were removed from the routine. However some of the gags are still usable. Why? Because Jackson is named almost half the time now when asked to name a famous person. Because of this I have left in certain bits of business about Jackson and the bits play well with an audience despite his death. I have deleted all the old Jackson gags listed at the end of the original manuscript. However, for those who have the original, the Flipping bit with the card still gets a big laugh. I waited a while before trying this again, and there has been enough time since his death that it plays well again with audiences.
Actually, this routine is very topical now. Most of you will find that Jackson will be called out quite often. In fact the directions now reflect this and tell you the best way to go when Jackson is called out. I am currently using this in EVERY show I do as a warm up or as the second bit in my act. I speak from experience, this routine is very strong and still gets big laughs. If you think the Jackson bit is still too soon after his death, you can leave that part out of the routine. Besides this version has a new ending that is seldom seen. Devin |

I just bought this From Houcs Pocus, since I do perform this type of Effect and I've try so many approach this past year on how to make the "Baby Gag" Stronger, looking forward to learn Devin's take on this one
I also Bought Marc DeSouza 4 DVD set, since inside them also contain his take on "Baby Gag", still on its way, so I don't know his approach yet I used this "Baby Gag" as my Opener for the past year, not to generate Groan, but mine got a Strong Kicker in the solar plexus waiting mode is ON....hope the works of these tow great Gentlemen will inspire my take on the "Baby gag" ......

I understand David Cosaro has an approach to the baby gag that gets good reviews too.

Just go this in myself.
I use to do the baby gag some time back as an opener for my comedy mental section. I made my own up and printed them on photo paper. Devin ideas and gags is a huge improvement over the good old baby gag. I plan to try this out in my next show. The photos being on plastic stock is a great idea if your like me and just pack and go, no worries about them getting dirty as well. Floyd
No one said it would be easy, or did they?

I have Devin's first version of the baby gag and it's worth buying just to get the quality baby photos, even if you don't use his routine. I have my own routine and only use the white baby, but it was worth the money to have it printed on plastic stock.

I don't want to tip it so the surprise isn't ruined for you. Marc's routine has a great magic kick to it and only uses the white baby. |

I'm glad you guys like this. I wanted the baby gag on plastic stock for years and finally got around to producing this. Just a heads up, the 2nd printing is close to being sold out. Paul Gross at Hocus Pocus told me he expected to be sold out very soon and my own supply is dwindling. If you want one I suggest you grab it while you can. No other reprint is planned for this year.
