Good post. As soon as I get my permit, I'm hitting the streets. They're strict in my town.

Yes, I was being facetious.

Here's a good tip for starting out.

***Don't start street performing expecting to make money.***

How's that for a hit in the head? If you go out there with money as your primary goal, you're setting yourself up for failure and disappointment. If you suck your first few times out, then you're going to be questioning your abilities as a performer because you're not getting the fat hats.

Instead, go out there with the goal of creating a great show. Learn to build the tip, work and engage the crowd and have them want to stay and watch your show.

The money will be there. Maybe not great at first. But it will be there.

Again, work on the show. Work on the crowd. Work on adapting to different performing spots. Work on performing for different sized crowds, how to handle hecklers, how to take a 30 second trick and build it into a 10 minute feature spot that everyone loves.

Once you have all this down and you know you're good, then worry about the money.

And truth be told, if you aren't concerned about the money in the beginning, you'll find that you'll learn how to get the money along the way as well.

These past two years have been a big learning curve for my girlfriend and I. We love busking. We're not where we want to be yet. But we're steadily climbing that ladder of success.

Good luck to you all,
EVILDAN.

By the way, if anyone does cups and balls, I highly recommend Frank Starsini's Deluxe Padded Jester Bag.

It not only holds the cups and protects them. When you're setting up and you place that standing up in the middle of the table, it tends to draw attention.
