I am looking to twist pens to use with the Lubor Lens. Is there any way to heat a pen and not get that burnt black area at the twist?

Try a heat gun

You can use a lighter just keep the flame far enough away so it does not turn black. All you need is to soften it.
I am getting so tired of slitting the throats of people who say that I am a violent psychopath.

Try what slyhand said. It works fine but again, make sure the flame is far enough away not to char the plastic.

If you put the pen in boiling water, that might be enough to soften up the plastic so it can be twisted. Im not sure that it will work but if youre careful it might be worth a try.
I am looking to buy Pressley Guitar items in good condition. Send me a PM for details.

After experimenting, I find that the black, Papermate pen is best. I use the fine pt, but I don't think that matters. When performing, use a regular pen...then switch it out, and put it in THEIR hands to reveal...when I did this at work, it caused such a ruckuss, that the Boss told me to keep the magic at home! Needless to say, I don't work there any more... Doug |
