My friend bought the candle. He didn't read the explanation, and he lit the wick of the candle. Then the wick of candle was burned.
Is there any method to use the candle, instead of that wick? Please answer me. My friend feels so sad. |

What on earth is this candle you speak of? Is it from Fantasio? McBride? Come on, give us a clue!

Oh, sorry...I am poor at speaking English. I mean Fantasio. Yes, I want to know if I can replace the wick. I am sorry.

Well, that depends on what the candle can do.
Is it a vanishing candle or an appearing candle? What effect do you want to accomplish? If he wanted to accomplished appearing a candle with lit fire, the candle itself must be a splitfire type, or else it won't work. The members of this Café are very helpful, and they are willing to help, but can't unless sufficient information is given. Keep on posting, and we will try our best to help you out. Symmatrix

I imagine you can replace the wick. You may try the Fantasio website and send them e-mail if you can't find the wick on their pricelist. http://fantasio.com/

The wick in the Fantasio candle can easily be replaced with standard wicks used for cigarette lighters. Just remove the cotton wading just like a lighter and replace the wick.
BTW, symmatrix, you don't need splitfire type of setup to produce the candle lit. I have two different methods and use both.

Here's something else for replacing the wick...
Discard the cotton packing from inside the fuel container, and replace it with a length of candle wick (the ones used in the candle lighter sticks that alter boys use to light candles). You can get these wicks from church supply stores. The wax does dry onto the top of the wick spout, but this isn't much of an issue as it helps to keep the wick in its place. Also, the slight bit of wax that drips down the top, helps make the candle look real. Hope this helps, - - Troy

When and if you replace the wick, i wouldn't light the candle when u practice - just for shows or u will wear the wick out twice as fast!

I would be very interested in any advice in producing a lit candle. I have the Fatasio ribbon to candle, which is just a vanishing candle with a ribbon. It has a lighter-type flint wheel to produce the candle lit. However, I have given up trying to get the thing to light that way. The sparks are not very reliable in my experience and it comes off looking clumsy. But I would love to know how to do this or find another way for it to appear already lit rather than lighting it later. It's a stronger effect for sure if it appears already lit! Thanks.
