Stolina from Germany also sells one, looks pretty expensive though (+/- 750 USD - I don't know what others sell for however): http://www.stolina.de/cgi-bin/shop.pl?f=......tem_2002 . Looks pretty good quality but I don't own it

I recently acquired Joe Givan's and Sterlini's machines. Each have their unique advantages but both are absolutely fantastic and come highly recommended. A real pleasure to own and perform with.

Can someone explain why Ray Lum's machine is $1,250.00? Aside from the fact that it includes a stand and a case, does it use real glass? My Givan and Sterlini machines are pretty high end. I can't imagine Lumball being of substantially higher quality? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I was doing a little research as I've seen a few different variations of this effect. The one that took the cake was where the performer asked the mark what her favorite color was. She stated purple, and her ring vanished and the first bubble came out and it did not had a purple lid, and had a fake ring in it, then they borrowed a quarter and a second time, she put the quarter in and turned the handle and this time a bubble fell, with a purple lid, but a quarter in it, when she did it the third time, the bubble was also purple with her ring. Which machine might he have used? Evidently this machine had multiple loads. Someone point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Mago, that performer wouldn't have been Terry Evenswood, "wood it"? Saw him recently also and his gumball machine act was the best I've seen yet. The color choice was a jaw dropper for sure.

Mago,
I have the Buzz Lawrence Ring-A-Ding machine, and what you described could be done pretty easily. The machine can be set to deliver the revelation on the first quarter, second quarter, etc. In the case you described, the machine would be set to deliver on the second quarter. KJ |

I have had a Sterlini machine for several years now with Wolf's Ring Grinder and have been very happy. It also allows you to set where in the sequence the "borrowed" ring to appear.

Everyone on the thread, Thanks for purchasing my version of the Ring In Gumball Machine.
The reason spectators are amazed during a performance is that it is the same commercial machine that’s in every store in the country, everyone is familiar with the machine, If you happen to drop the machine, is not good but it will survive, it’s manufactured for every little kid to pull, bang, turn the coin handle with all there mite and attempt to destroy it to get at the prizes inside. The reason I use balloons is it’s very colorful from a distance on a stage and the balloons cover everything going on inside the machine, I felt that using toys invites the volunteer to look closely at all the prizes inside the prize compartment. And any magician can also purchase my version of the machine with an add on for a coin slot that will accept Pesos Now for the reason that the gumball machine is $650.00, it is not because of my creative juices and greed! When I first assembled the machine I was selling them direct on the Café and other magicians websites to magicians around the world with great success for around $450.00. About six years ago, Murphys Magic contacted me to purchase the machine in quantities at a wholesale price. It was much easier for me to send Murphy’s 20 machines and collect a check then it was to go to the post office every day and stand in line to send one out. The negative result of selling the machine to Murphy’s Magic was the markup and the shipping. Murphy’s purchased the machine from me; Murphy’s paid for shipping the machine to them, Murphy’s marked up the price they paid me for there profit and sold the machine to dealers adding a bit for the shipping they paid UPS for the machine to be shipped to them. When a machine was sold by Murphy’s to a dealer, the dealers paid for shipping the machine to them; who again marked up the machine for resale and added a bit they paid for shipping. Most dealers sold the machine with free shipping, well nothing is free so with the dealers markup the price they paid to Murphy’s for their profit, plus a little bit for shipping the machine to the magician, the result was a $650.00 machine. Three profit margins and three shipping charges were paid out before a machine was sold to a magician. Recently it was decided that Murphy’s Magic will no longer be the exclusive wholesaler of the Buzz Lawrence gumball machine and I’m again selling direct to magicians. The machine was pricy at $650.00, So after careful consideration, and number crunching, the new price buying directly from me is $525.00 and I’ll pay the shipping. Buzz Lawrence 415.816.0099 call & text buzz@buzzlawrence.com PayPal & Venmo accepted Of course I need to add this statement. Because of California’s Proposition 65 any California magician purchasing my machine must be aware that the gumball machine may cause Cancer, the rest of the world need not worry, the machine won’t hurt you |
