This is my balloon hell each month... Call me lazy but I hate it! No matter if I use a balloon apron or my swifty bag its still the same dred each and every month!
The door bell rings.. Its the UPS man with my monthly balloon order from http://www.balloonmerchant.com Now its time to open ALL the bags and flip all the heads of the balloons the same direction... Then wrap up and load the balloons... Everytime I do this I think "Can't they make a machine that does this?!?!?" If Qualatex or Betallatex came up with this invention eveyone would be buying from them as it takes HOURS out of each month for me to do this. There has to be another way! I'm spending over a hundred dollars every single month just on balloons for twisting (not including the costs I spend for sculpture or decor jobs) |

I will start working on a service that not only turns all the balloons the same way, but automatically loads them in your apron for you, as well. And, for a little extra fee, it will hand you the balloon you need, as you need it. How much should I charge for this service?

Wow thanks for the link. I have been always ordering from Larock, but now I see I can get my balloons even cheaper. Since you seem to be ordering every month, they must have good balloons/service

There discount is at $100 but even without there discount they still cheaper than anyone elses lowest price. They have been in the market since 1965.. Joe the owner is the best he even ads some free stuff sometimes to your order! Tell hime Kevin from Denver said hello.. regarding packing the balloons has anyone ever timed them self per month from the time they [icked up the box till the time they stuffed there bag?... It has to be a lot of hours out of your month.. I guess we have to keep that in mind when we are charging our clients. I just think if they could pack the balloons all one way someone would get all the business! Atleast from me and many others. |

Yeah, but like you said. Think about how many hours are spent. Even at minimum wage you're looking at adding some serious cost per order if it was done manually.

I use this time to relax and catch up on my DVR programs. Even if the balloons came nozzle-up, I'd still have to pull them out and even them up for my quick-load strips. This might simplify the process, but I don't see it eliminating it.
On the other hand, I pay a couple of local kids to roll my promo wand handouts and package my BOR products for me. Hadn't really thought about paying them to load my balloon strips. I'll have to give that some serious thought. Thanks, guys!

Some of the balloons I buy are made by a company in Thailand called BK Balloons. They come in packs of thirty and all the balloons are packaged lying flat with all the heads on one side and all the other ends on the other.
If they can manage it then I'm sure qualatex can do it too. To top it off the BK Balloons are cheaper than Qualatex and I can't decide if this is a plus or not, but they are quite a bit thicker than the Qualatex as well. |

I use slave labor .... my kids!!!
$1 per bag head to tail 25 per band. How do you rape 25 balloons?? isn't that time consuming & illegal?

I actually asked Ted & Betty point blank if they would or could package that way they said it would cost too much. I told them I would gladly pay $1 per bag for an easy load bag with zip off top. Less packaging and great for artists.
I used to work in a factory, I know there are shakers and roller that could make this happen. In the pen company I worked for all the little bits to a pen actually shake and spin right into place. Quite amazing to see.

Asia has many more hands to do things like this cheaply.....
Here in America we tend to use a machine to do the mundane....
