Hey, just a simple introduction: My name is Adam Baillio. I live in Vegas. I am a theater practitioner which is to say I am both in front and behind the scenes. I am interested in responsible, thoughtful performance and I'm excited to look farther into the idea of magic as performance. I'm fairly new to the magic community, though I am not without a few tricks.
I recently discovered cardistry and I'm fascinated. Can't wait to learn some of those flair moves. I am particularly interested in learned the little tricks you can carry with you and perform at any time without much preparation. Stuff that can just be carried in the pocket without taking much room. I am married with two children, and my family is the crowning jewel of my life. They are everything to me. Again, I'm excited to dive into magic as a hobby and see where it goes from there! |

Hi Adam!
Welcome to the world of magic! I'm into impromptu magic too! I love it. Congrats! On you family. What are your goals in magic? You'll be getting into it more and more I can assure you. BobC |

I think my first goal in magic is just to get the slight of hand stuff down. I kinda' get that some tricks are just clever contraptions and science at its best, but the skill in magic is getting your hands to do things that don't come naturally to most. At least, that's what I'm starting to discover. An over arching goal is learn more about magic as a performance art and what ideas can be expressed through magic. I would like to eventually be able to perform impromptu for small audiences and actually share a message through my magic. I think another more realistic goal is to just make some friends and enjoy a hobby with a group of people.

Well, you are on the right road. Sleight of hand is a matter of practice. First understand it and then just do it again and again, but it's actually a lot more simple than people think; we don't really have ultra super fast fingers, but there are basic techniques, combined with misdirection and performance, and of course people skills!
I can see you are already enjoying your magic and that's good! Let me know if there is anything I can do for you, seeya around BobC |

Welcome! I'm new myself and feel that I've found a good place to be. I have been helped already and believe I've come to a place where there are large numbers of people anxious to be of assistance with vast amounts of knowledge. I'm excited (and surprised) that I've been able to help a couple of members myself. I do magic as a hobby and although there isn't anything better than the satisfaction of doing a slight of hand, some small packet tricks produce such excitement and wonder for friends that I can't imagine not doing them. If you want you can PM me and I'll send you a couple of packet tricks that sound like they are what you are looking for.
