On his television show in the 1980s Paul Daniels did a burnt an restored credit card effect with a spectators credit card. Done the same way as a signed playing card or signed banknote burnt and restored if I remember correctly, with Paul "accidently" burning the credit card as the spectator looked on.

I know most magic shops/websites I've been to sell a levitation utility trick by various names (I think I've seen Butterfly Card most commonly), that works very well with a borrowed card. I happen to be fond of it because about 2 out of 3 times I use it at least one spectator will spend the next five minutes or so trying to replicate the effect. I actually started using the idea of it being a physics effect in my patter for it just to encourage that reaction more.

There was a series of individual credit cards, put out by James Ford, that covered various effects such as a bending credit card, another where the spectator feels the numbers on the card and then you promptly erase the numbers off of said card, there is another where the graphics on the card get all mixed up, another where the credit card reveals a selected card, etc. The names were something like the Bending Credit Card, No Credit, Messy Credit or Messy Business and Bet On It, respectively. I remember seeing a different effect in which you remove the magnetic strip from the card, then restore it. No idea whose it was or what it was called, but I am sure you could even make your own up using an old ATM, debit or credit card strip. I hope this information is useful to you - however late it may be... |

I always carry a few "credit card" tricks in my wallet.
Credit Card Monte by James Ford is quite cool. A very basic handling is taught, but since the method is so simple, it's easy to create your own handling. I also use my own Where Time Stands Still. It's one of my favorites because it can be done anytime as long as you're carrying your wallet and you can borrow a deck of cards. |

This new one looks interesting...
http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/dollar-to-......360.html It reminds of the one where you toss a playing card into the air and it changes into a credit card, but it makes more sense to change a bill into a credit card.

It's available to all his newsletter subscribers for $10 less than the original price. Just seen this in the newsleter he has sent. John |
