Vistaprint offers free business cards. They even have some magic backgrounds. Go to http://www.vistaprint.com and search "magic."

Nagi cpa: Vistaprint is undoubtably a fantastic service.
The downside is a limited number of layouts, very uninteresting fonts and stock images. I also believe they are single-sided (for a price, premium cards are double-sided) and have 'VistaPrint' printed on the back. This wouldn't be the image I would want to give my prospective employers. Buy the best you can afford and hand them out wisely to begin with. Derek |

Vistaprint is not bad, but I have used overnightprints.com for a lot of my design client's wrok. They have great quality and can really hold the color well. Their turn around times are very good and uploading is pretty simple. I also enjoyed their sustomer support. As a graphic designer, I can be a pain when it comes to getting things printed exactly as how I designed it. They have been very good.

"The Business Card Book: What Your Business Card REVEALS About You...and How to Fix It." by Dr. Lynella Grant will tell you more about business card design than you ever wanted to know! I got the book from the library, looked over it several times, and then made up my own card.
Someday I'll get it again and get a really good card.

I have used Vista Print for a long time because I can pay in Canadian $$ and they ship from Canada so I don't pay customs.
I found a great graphic that works for my show. Hard to describe - it shows what looks like a pig crossed with a drag racer. Very funny and suits my show on 2 levels - one is the name Bacon and two is my main puppet is a pig. I have blank backs on them, and they don't say Vista anywhere. People compliment me all the time on the originality.

You also want your business card to coordinate with your other promotional materials: letterhead, brochures, website, etc.

Moo.com is where I got my cards printed. Very stiff stock, I get "wows" when I hand them out. They aren't cheap but in my mind they scream "professional".

Vista print does just fine. I personally get mine printed from a local print shop.
I hated my previous one. It had so much junk and busy crap in it. I really toned it down. Here's mine. This is a reduced jpg quality. The photoshop file looks clearer anyway. http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/2420/businesscarddi.jpg |

Use VistaPrint, but here's a tip. Spend the $100 bucks or so and have a professional Graphic Designer design a nice logo for you. It's the best marketing money you can ever spend. Once you have a logo you can use VistaPrint's "use my own design" option and still get great pricing on everything. Always pay extra for glossy prints, and utilize the back-side of the card with a message. These options are very affordable up-sells and they go the distance in how they look. But get a nice logo, that is the first step. You can then use it on business cards, website and internet ads, brochures, and even huge signage and banners or auto-wraps if you pursue that form of advertising.

Whenever I see a marketing course for Magicians, they always have a "secret on the perfect card to get them calling".
is that a trick to get you to order the course?
