They arrived post haste and Marty even included some DF cards for MacDonalds Aces free as a gift! What service! The quality of workmanship is superb and I am finally happy with my strippers. The corners are cut consistently BTW. So, if you are in the market for some professionally made Strippers look no further than Martini's Magic...Thanx Marty! Cardamagically, Dom

My stripper deck is also badly cut....Never use it, which is a shame because you can do some miracles with it.
The only problems I've ever encountered where with a s*eng**li deck. I was performing on a school and those *** kids knew what a Svengali deck was....quickly did a deck change and performed some sleight things...they left the classroom baffled |

Thanks, Jon, for posting. Will be looking for your books and/or DVD. I can do sleights and work with a regular deck, but I've always liked these, and their ease of handling. I'd like to delve deeper into them.

I think its all about audience management. I used a stripped deck before I learned to manipulate. Id do a fan and have someone pick their card from it then close the fan to the opposite hand, automatically rev***ing the deck with no one the wiser. When I fanned again they would naturally put it in the same way it came out.
I just bought a new stripper actually to try a crazy idea I had on a use..

Domkabala,
I would like to thank you for turning me on to martini magic. Marty is great he made me a Tally-Ho Stripper deck and a Rising card deck to match. Much appreciated Brian |

How about taking out the 4 Aces from a Stripper Deck and adding them in place of your aces in a normal deck for an extremely easy Ace cutting routine?
If you want to force a card for a specific trick, take it from a stripper and add it to a normal one - it's obviously very easy to find even after the spectator has shuffled and cut to his hearts content. Finally, you could also use the card as a 'short card' locator/key card. Due to the inward taper (of the card or cards added), any of these uses are dead easy. There you go - just a few ideas!

How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

I have from my student days a really old spanish-style stripper deck that came with a leaflet telling you to do just that, so I assumed that move was canonical! *lol*

Hey Russell,
You should complete the set of gaff decks by getting a short deck (and review that and there are no worries if you drop this deck once you add "another" card) this way you can expand your workings of card magic. With your amount of 500+ posts, I'll assume you know what that is, but you are asking about handling a stripper deck so I don't know. |

And don't forget "THE UNDERGROUND STRIPPER" which turns any borrowed deck into a Stripper deck in under five seconds. I would consider this the "real work." Fond memories with Sankey and others totally frying people with this back in the mid 1980s. Fun to grab a fellow performer's deck and comment, "Wow, you're using strippers" and then watch the look on their face as they realize that they ARE using a stripper deck. Magic Conventions are fun!

Fellow magicians,
Indeed the stripper deck is well-known by people who have used it as a child or by people who are beginner magicians, but fortunately this last group mostly repects the magicians code. For the other group there is a simple way for me to look at it. They do NOT understand the working of a Stripper-deck because they know one or two tricks with it. We, as magicians, know how to use it to force card(s), do multiple routines (like four aces, color switch, red and black,...). And even if someone knows the Stripper-deck: most of the time they will keep their mouth shut. But I understand your concern. Do not let that concern stop you for performing this effect or using this deck to perform new, self-invented effects. When done right, you will amaze many. There will always be those who think they know it all. Prove them wrong!
We perform magic, not to convince people that magic exists, but to outsmart them... and they like it.

Hi Roki,
The separation of blacks and reds is a miracle to the spectator! Getting the hang of 'pulling' the cards apart is the work-load; not that difficult. Imagine a spec placing the Aces anywhere in the deck; a moment later with a false shuffle (the moment of pulling) and a cut & you can palm-off the 4 aces and place in your inner jacket pocket, or in your trouser pocket and suggest something about time-travel and how the past present and future are merely an illusion. I do love strippers! How about belly-strippers which, surprisingly, few laymen know anything about. Good luck in the future

The stripper deck is cool but In my opinion should be used only when a regular deck could not do the same task. To produce 4 aces In ex. There are hundreds of practical ways to achieve the same result much better because spectator can freely shuffle the deck IN any direction.
