Can anyone confirm what they say about the legality of card counting in the UK? Is it really illegal here?

"Card counting The mentally agile can count cards to improve their odds. It is illegal in UK casinos because it turns a game of chance into one of skill."
Wow...I did not know that.....I know in the USA, card counting is legal as long as you do not use electronics to assist you. Blackjack "team play" may be illegal...but, I am not sure....I think all they can do is ask you to leave. When I did card counting in my youth...I always worked solo.

Todays journalists can be accused of many things, indepth knowledge of the subject they write about is all to often not among those things.
Maybe they confuse banned with illegal ? CC might be not illegal in the US, but one can still get banned from the casino. Maybe some UK members can clarify ? Regards, |

I did some google searches and it's perfectly legal according to most UK gambling websites. It did seem kind of strange to me.
