Craig: I do appreciate all you do for the magic community and in a very
short time I will be listing the SCAM Convention for 2011. All our information is already confirmed, I would like to announce it first at our 2010 convention this weekend. Thanks, Helen Pettit SCAM 2010 and 2011 Columbia, SC Helen Pettit |

No problem, my pleasure. The Calendar is almost as complex as my vacation schedule. You don't want to see 2010. Been doing the Calendar in one form or another since 1989 Yikes. George Daly has all the printed ones bound from back then when I started the New England Newsletter in the 80s, so folks could avoid conflicts, but sent it to key people around the country. It caught on, and then performers wanted it to get bookings. So as soon as there was an Internet, it was online. Magic Mag used to copy it, with permission of course, and on we go. Wish you all the best for your venues. I am still printing and binding 500 copies of lecture notes and DVDs for the upcoming tour. Ughh. Maybe Ill get to SC one day, Ed Dunhill keeps inviting me. He used to be one of us.

Ed Dunhill has been a friend for a long time. He originally was in the
Columbia Ring of the IBM but then moved to Myrtle Beach so both Rings probably claim him. Wouldn't seem like Christmas without our annual card from him. We usually do try and call him when we get to Myrtle Beach each year for a yearly committment we have there. If I remember correctly he was in your area between Columbia and Myrtle Beach. Hope you have a good tour. Helen Pettit SCAM 2010 Columbia, SC |

Helen
No Ed used to live in Massachusetts before he retired, I had a house 45 miniutes away in the Berkshire Mountains, near Stockbridge, home of Norman Rockwell, and the Red Lion Inn, and also in New York in the Hudson Valley. We had met at a NYCAN Convention in the early 90s and became instant fast friends. Same sick sense of humor. He also had a farm in Rhode Island. So we are both Yankees, but he became a D**m Yankee LOL. I am still a New Yorker. I surprise him by calling at just the right time it seems. I miss him, we co-wrote a lot of funny stuff over the years. I get that Christmas Card as well. I owe him a call too.

Craig: I knew he had lived in the north for awhile but didn't know if it was
between the time he lived in Columbia and Myrtle Beach or before he moved to Columbia. Thanks for telling me. I have lived in South Carolina for a long time but actually was born and lived in Jersey about 15 years. So I guess I'm a d--m Yankee myself too. |

Nothing wrong with that. I have been officially adopted by many states and countries we have visited. People is people.
