I've got some business trips taking me to Montgomery Alabama and Knoxville Tennessee. I was pleasently surprised to see magic stores in both locations and so I'm wondering if you all might know of anyone performing in either of those areas...

I live in Knoxville and would be happy to meet with you, though I'm mostly homebound. There is no local magic shop worthy of the name, but are seven of them in nearby Sevier County (Gatlinburg). A number of local members of IBM Ring 58 perform regularly. Meeting is the 4th Thursday of the month and Winter Carnival is coming the first week of March. PM me for a meet-up

If you are referring to Dynamite Magic & Balloons in Montgomery, Al, the owner, Gary has closed down his store after many years in business. If you have found another in that area, please let me know.

Yes, Dynamite was the one I saw listed for Montgomery...very sorry to hear of the closing. No others listed in the area.

A couple of the websites looked interesting...may have to take that way back to Georgia. I saw the IBM ring was very active. Will be short trip this time, but will be back for more courses at Univ of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Guys,
Gary closed the retail store but he is still selling magic and has all of his stuff at his home. He has a website but I am not sure of the address. I will try to find it out and post it later. You can probably google him at Dynamite Magic and Balloons and find it there. Yes, Gary is still selling magic and balloons. larry moore |

I used to live in Knoxville and there were 2 shops back then. One in Halls and one in West Knoxville. I would love to connect with the guys from way back then.

If you in Knoxville its totaly worth the 40 min. drive down to see the show Magic Beyond Belief. Theres at least 3 or 4 magic shops. Plenty of magicain in the east Tn area that would like to hang out including me. If you into stage illusions, gospel and/or kids magic Smoky Mountain magic is 1 1/2 hour away in Johnson City, TN. Plus Ring 58 in Knoxville and Ring 355 in the Tri Cities. Not to mention TN girls are hot, lol!

Lucy and I are doing stage magic at Westley Hall in Montgomery March 11th. However, I think it is a closed admission for SPIRIT on the Frazer campus. It is the same as Follies show we did there in October. You have got to see Lucy doing Elvira.

Thanks all for the information and invites.
Am finishing up trip at Tennessee this week...worked late every night and unable to get to magic shop before they closed. Hoping to stop by on Saturday and also to stop by shop in Chatanooga on way back. Had 1 day trip to Montgomery last month, again...too busy to do much. But should be going back out there soon. Hopefully I can arrange it April 12th. Thanks again all...

I would recommend catching Sean Paul and Julliane at Magic Beyond Belief if you can. The show is nightly at 8:00pm in Pigeon Forge. I am in Dandridge, about 35 miles east of Knoxville. Drop me a line if you would like to hang out before you head back.

Magic is an art. I am merely a tour guide.

Thanks again all...The training kept me too busy in Knoxville, but will be heading back in March and should have a weekend layover.
Went through Chatanooga on my drive back and stopped in at Chatanooga Magic & Fun Shop. Ended up spending over 3 hours talking with owner Barry Manley (thanks Don for directions). Turns out Barry is retired Air Force and I'm in USAF...so between that and magic, had a lot to talk about. Would have stayed longer if I'd the time. Thanks again, and hope to get to East TN to see the shows and shops (wife may be coming along, so I'll have to pass on the hot girls...)
