What is the name of the trick where the magician have a fan (skeleton of the fan only) and then takes a silk, wrap it around and then, like magic (lol) the silk is now on the fan... Most of the time it is performed in a routine.
Thanks!

Are you talking about the breakaway fan as shown at
http://www.magic.org/store/product_info.php?products_id=1100 or are you referring to a variation of the breakaway fan? The fact that you don't use the term "breakway fan" confused me. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

No, it's not the breakaway fan... like a year ago I've seen a video of a young japanese doing a dove, silk, routine and the fan effect was in it... but I can't find the video anymore...

Sounds kind of like a mutilated fan instead of a parasol.

I don't know. I have never seen a mutilated fan. There are many sources for a mutilated parasol. I liike Abbott's version.

Thanks Regan,
Anyone knows what act/routine I was Talking about? He was a young asian magician. I found the link, here on the magic Café... And it was an act with doves, silks, etc... One trick he did was like his cellphone was riging and then pretty fast, a dove appeared from the phone. He also did some trick with a cigarette and he "magicaly" filled a glass full of smoke... And I think he is a member here on the Café... Anyways, I'm looking for it since like 1 week and I can't find it... Anyone can help? Thanks!

It is an old P&L effect. It was like the mutilated parasol. It was called the Fan of Nations. It used little silk flags instead of silks. It has not been available in many, many year.
I could make one up if you don't have the urge to make it up. Richard

There may be a video of Bobo doing it in his Kid Show. I just checked and it is not on the Stevens Tape. But I know it is described in Kid Stuff 5 and maybe in the Bobo Magic Show book.

This not the P&L Fan of Nations. It is simply a manipulation idea of his.
The black and white silk blendo was sometimes sold by El Duco. I think I can get the Zebra silk also. Then he combined it with Tony Clarks gloves to streamer. Richard
