Doing it with the entire deck takes away the strong point of spreading the remaining cards face up (before showing that the spec. got 'em all right) to show them mixed - without saying so. HL.

Doing it with whole deck also slows the process considerably and makes the effect a bit TOO IMPOSSIBLE. When done with full deck (way before I learned it properly ) I sometimes had reactions that were more like: "Hm, nice trick, what did you do", while with the half or so it's definitely more believable and people are actually astonished, usually doesn't look like just another trick to them. The only nice thing to eventually pick up from Murray's presentation is his way of correcting the wrong pile. I sometimes do it that way for tricky people, but it's more a precaution than anything, I've never been caught doing it Harry's way. |

You bought up a very interesting point Picard. OOTW was performed for me with a full deck. This was the first time I had ever experienced OOTW and it blew me away. The magician used it as his closer and made me handle the deck all the way through.
For me, a full deck is stronger. When a spectator is given a full deck and has to decide on the choices, this increases the impossibility. The length of the trick also increases the tension and apprehension of the spectator. He/she is thinking, will I screw this up? How many cards did I choose correctly? etc. Not only does the spectator experience a huge sigh of relief when the cards are turned over but he/she has just experienced a miracle. This was how I felt when the trick was performed for me. Again, the trick was a closer and could be forgiven the length considering the outcome. There are many ways to skin this cat and each method has its pros and cons. Would you use the impromptu OOTW as a closer or stand alone effect? Taj |

I perform Harry's OOTU whenever I have a table of people, I let everyone at the table put their input and then eventually handle the deck. I have never even come close to being caught. Even my wife who pretty much sees how a lot of things work has no idea how OOTU works. It is a brilliany handling. Like everyone else said about running while not eing chased- if you think you can or you think you can't, youre right.

Harry's "OOTU" is amazing. I used it a ton prior to the last couple/few months, as I switched to Tom Ogden's version of it, "Out Of Sight". I'm also a big fan of Harris' "Galaxy".
With all that being said, and correct me if I am wrong, but I think Harry Lorayne is referring SPECIFICALLY to using a full deck to do the impromptu version and that version only. I could be reading the thread wrong but that seems to be the difference of point of view I am seeing. Lem |

I use "Nu Way out of this World" by U. F Grant.

Mick Ayres has a brilliant piece within Noetic License, that's the version I use and the best (for me) I've come across... though
Paolo Cavalli has one within his Sigma manuscript which is also great. |

Yep. Paolo has some great thoughts on this.
