I am from Luxembourg, and I am looking for a place where I can order a dove vest, something like http://www.abbottmagic.com/Abbotts-Dove-......oryId=-1 (The problem is Abbott will not ship outside the USA.) Does anyone know a good magic shop for this stuff? I searched on Google and have not found a place to order...

I am also looking for a dove hypno levitation.

I can see you are from Luxembourg, and that isn't far away from Belgium. Look at the website http://www.studentoutfit.nl You can find their tuxedos. If you want to make the tuxedo able for dove magic (pockets, etc...), you can find the instructions for it on the lecture notes of Henk Linders on dove magic. You can buy this lectures by dynamitemagic in the Netherlands, or you can order them by Mister Linders himself.

Abbotts does ship outside the USA. I know, as I have had stuff sent to the UK. unless they have changed their policy recently, they should still send it to Luxembourg.

I've used the Abbots dove vest myself and, personally, I don't like it. It's made of the wrong materials (ideally, the pockets should be made of satin), and it was a bit rough on the birds with steals. I actually ended up sewing the original pockets shut and sewing General Grant triple tier pockets to it. Tony Clark uses a tuxedo vest with his pockets sewn to it, but for pockets you can also use Andy Amyx's or Dan Sperry's, whichever is easiest to find.

For the dove levitation, the easiest one to find is Dan Birch's.

The Abbott vest is a prime example of how to use plastic inserts. Sewing the pockets shut and adding Gen's or anyone else's pockets to it is a bit of overkill. Cut a piece of plastic from a notebook sheet protector, and slip it into the pocket. The speed will be twice as fast as with just a regular pocket, even Gen's and Tony's.

It may be overkill, but it's what worked to get a configuration that worked for me.

I'm sure it has, and there's nothing wrong with that. Overkill wasn't the right word. What I meant was that it seemed like a lot of extra work to attain something that was as easy as inserting a piece of plastic.

I wish the Magic Café was operational back in 1995. That's when I bought my Abbotts dove vest and agreed with Alexo about the unsuitable material. Instead of having the knowledge to fix it, I used the pockets to hold my balloons for twisting.

Either that, or I wish Dave Scribner was my mentor.

Even Tony Clark recommended using plastic tape or liner in the satin pockets to increase the speed of a steel. So far the bare satin seems to work fine for me. As far as the abbot's vest goes, I haven't used it, And I was wondering if it was worth buying? I'm now using a regular garden variety vest with tony's pockets sewed on.

Be careful putting plastic inserts into your pockets, I used to use them but have now taken them out because even though I load my jacket hanging I always got worried about it getting too hot for the doves since plastic doesn't allow breathing like normal fabric does which is why I've since made my pockets out of very thin lining material. Especially if you're putting doves into a holder, then inside a pocket lined with plastic, its like wrapping your body in a plastic rain coat or jump suit and then crawling in a sleeping bag...i'm just saying be careful with this option

Good advice Dan, but to be clear, if you're going to use the plastic, it isn't supposed to be wrapped completely around the pocket. Al that's necessary is a layer of plastic on the bottom and part way up the sides. In other words, the lower half of the pocket is lined while the upper half is just cloth.
