Boy survived 50-foot plunge
Quote:
Fourteen-year-old Martin Gardner suffered burns all over his body after grabbing a live cable attached to a container. He's banged up, but according to the story, he should be OK in the long run. |

Was Ednase in the container?
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Tommy and I are both a bit ill. Someone says "Martin Gardner", and, well....

That was a cruel topic name - I imagine a few skipped heart beats.
Best wishes for the kid.

Can you find the shortest path of his fall, if he folds himself into a hexaflexagon?

I'm sure all of you "Lost" viewers caught the Gardner reference on tonight's episode.

Rather shocking that he survived. If one falls 50 feet one lands at almost 40 miles per hour. Landing on tracks guarantees a non flat landing site and on hard metal and/or wood strips. The potential for damage in that situation is incredible. Someone was smiling on that boy for sure.

The Annotated Alice was among Jack's son's books. Jack picked up the book and commented, "I used to read to you from this book." (Not an exact quote.)
I had just mentioned Martin Gardner to my wife moments before this scene. I let out a holler when Jack picked the book up. I must be psychic. |
