Hi, all.
Below is a video of an effect I created the other day. I haven't kept up with my magic reading over the past 10+ years, so I was wondering if you guys could have a look and let me know if this is original. (As we all know, it's quite possible to invent something, only to find out somebody else invented it years ago LOL). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DGI6GHY9FY Thanks! - Jim

Nice one. I liked your magic gesture for the transposition. Just a thought.... why playing cards?

I wouldn't start holding out, but rather steal as you set the deck aside.

Nice handling. If I was casually watching this I would be blown away.

People have been calling me "Yu" lately. I don't know, must be Chinese.

Peter Kane created the routine "Signature Transposition", which is where the effect is that two spectator's sign cards and their signatures subsequently transpose.
Since then, several other magicians have published similar routines. The only other one I recall is Gary Oulette, but I know there were others.
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.

Thanks for your help, guys!
Laurent, I chose playing cards because I like the fact that the faces of the cards are different, thereby reinforcing the effect of the signatures transposing, rather than the objects themselves transposing. Taking it a step further, I'm working on an effect now where the magician writes his initials on the sole of a spectator's shoe, and the spectator writes their initials on the magician's sole, and the signatures transpose. I'll put up a video of it when the wrinkles are worked out. My best, Jim
