Sam you are the only other juggler for 20 miles. Please excuse for forgetting about you. On a side note I met Eric Paul 22 years ago at the Philadelphia jugglers club meeting, and he took me to my first SAM meeting several months later.

My act is mostly magic, but I almost always end with a contact juggling routine, even when doing close-up. If I'm doing table hopping or walk around I don't do much juggling at all, as I don't like to burden myself with too many props.

I do 3 juggling sequences (about 1/3 of my show.) I open with some club juggling. I do a choreographed ball juggling routine to music, and bring a kid up to hold spinning plates while I spin a ball on the point of his/her helmet.
I usually do some hat manipulation to warm up the crowd. -Daniel |

Daniel, generally, why do the kids you perform for have ball spinnable helmets?

In other news, I close both my family show and my adult show with juggling routines. (the remainder of the show is magic) The family show with a plate spinning piece, and the adult show with comedic danger juggling. I wish there were a better reason for it than those pieces just getting the best response. Or that could be the best reason of all. I'm writing a new show, where there are many, many reasons for the character to do all sorts of magic, and very little reason to do any juggling...and I'm loathe to lose the comedy juggling stuff. I'm in an interesting spot, now trying to write a strong finale for this new character, that is as strong as the previous piece I have used for years. -Brian |
