The rubber-band of my Tango flipper coin broke and I'm trying to remove the part stuck on the coin. It said to put alcohol to remove the glue but it's still really hard pop it out. Is there anything else I can do? :S
Thanks in advance Bao

The type of solvent that is needed will depend on the glue that was used.
If alcohol doesn't work, try acetone, nail remover, or "goo gone". Be careful of the fumes, and keep away from open flames I've just use a screwdriver and pried mine out, then scraped it clean before regluing.

I bet you have the same pro-gravity tango flipper that I do. Its a real pain to get undone. soak it in acetone for about 10 minutes or so and detach the piece on the back very carefully so you don't bend it. putting it back together again is difficult to. I found it easiest the put the band on the larger part first then super glue the little metal part to the smaller part and let it dry the try and hook the band in that and super glue the smaller peice back into the back of the shell part.
sorry trying to be vague. if you need anymore help pm me and I'll be more clear. I could probably be more vague too. |

You can't use double stick tape on yours? Much easier to take off in the future. Also, be sure to place two rubber bands back on.

When all else fails, Mr. Tango is a member here...why not ask him?

I have a Tango Pro Gravity half dollar flipper and fortunately it is working well. However I have two older Tango flippers - an Eisenhower dollar and a quarter - and they both broke a while back. I separated the pieces, cleaned them up good, and since then have tried several ways to get them working again, but no success here.
I have tried two different types of double-sided tape but neither stays in place when I try to operate the flippers. I then super-glued them but now the two pieces simply don’t fit well anymore; much too tight to open. Yes, they are clean all over - no gook remaining anywhere. And I cannot use the silk method of stretching the shell portion because no other coins fit into the shell part of the gaff; the flipper uses an unexpanded shell so unless you have other coins cut to fit you can't use coins in them to stretch them. I also tried putting the two inner components inside without any glue or rubber bands and lightly tapped all around the edges to loosen them up a bit. Worked a little bit but not enough to allow the flipper to work. Not a major loss since I would rarely if ever use these; the older flippers have the groove for the rubber band exposed and they are noticeable, whereas the Pro Gravity flipper is much more deceptive due to the internal cut. I keep them around thinking that I will find some use for them, and I'm sure I will. Thanks! Jim |

I had that same problem when I glued them for the first time. I had to allow them to dry in the open position or with something in between the gimick part and the face so it was slightly open. Yeah I tried double stick tape for some reason it didn't work with the flipper I have. work on another one I had but lost on a roller coaster. but not on this one. the glue works good you just have to be careful and soak in acetone when you have to replace the band |

The double-sided tape tip is a gem, and works like a charm. Why didn't I think of that? Thanks!!

I separated both parts of my tango flipper using a lighter.
