Tricky Business is my favorite room here at the Magic Café. I’m amazed and grateful of the number of people here that are willing to share their knowledge. SEO tricks, GigMasters secrets, Web site building, and countless other subjects. Thank you all.
Now, who is willing to share some Facebook ad secrets? As this thread points out this could be a huge thing: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=44 In the video he alludes to a learning curve for Facebook ads and wasting a lot of money in the beginning and even got banned from Facebook. I’d like to skip the losing money part. The thing that really attracts me to Facebook ads is the fact that you can target just about any demographic. For example, I just placed my first ad yesterday targeting children’s birthday parties. So, I’m only sending it to married women between the ages of 25 to 45 and within 50 miles of my home. You can also target people by interests and occupation. I’m thinking about taking out another ad targeting schools. So, I could target all teachers in my area. Am I on the right track? How have facebook ads worked for you? I will be sharing my results on this thread and hopefully my knowledge on the subject. Here’s to success!

If you are signed into your own FB page,
just click the Advertising link right at the bottom in the footer links. They explain it fairly well. The learning curve is a lot easier than Adwords. You can be very tightly targeted and like Adwords, the amount you pay per click is up to you Timothy |

Facebook Ads are really powerful - we are seeing tremendous returns for clients in terms of ROI - better then Adsense even . . . the main tip is to really target those locals you want to perform in . . .

I tried an ad targeting Children’s Birthday Parties for 9 days. At first I wasn’t getting any clicks so I raised my bid. That seemed to work. I actually had someone fill out my booking form on day five, but I was already booked. The ad ended up costing me $20.
I still think there are many good things about Facebook ads and they are worth pursuing. Once you get one set up, which only took me about 20 minutes, you can change it, reissue it, etc. with just a few clicks. If I see a slow month approaching I can put the add back up. And if my calendar is full I can suspend the ad in an instant. No need to waste advertising money. I have one running now for school assemblies. I’m experimenting with targeting people with a degree in primary education, administration, and because my assemblies are character education related, I’m targeting people with a degree counseling. Again, you can change your targeting with a few clicks and day by day if you want. I wish I could share more secrets with you but I’m in the infancy of my study. I hope to return to this tread in the future with successes.

??? WOW $20 is a lot for a facebook ad
The thing with facebook advertising (have over 30 ads running right now) is it has LESS clicks but higher conversion of the clicks so where you might get 200 clicks in google you might only get 5 in facebook but will book a MUCH higher percentage of gigs from it
its ok.. balloon dogs don't bite

Well, I started at .50 per click but after day 1 no one clicked. I eventually raised to $1.71 per click before it got attention and that's when I got the booking.
Teach me.

Right now it, still, has to be one of the better conversion rates though - at least in little or semi-competitive regions . . .
When we've looked at all of the types of advertising we've done in the past, there is simply no better way to get "in front of" those exact potential customers we want . . . we do a ton of kid shows, and maybe a good old t-shirt with our logo and info on it is the only thing better (give the birthday kid a shirt a size up so they wear it for a while too, haha) . . . This $2 or so per shirt investment over the years has garnished us hundreds of additional shows and referrals . . . the original "gig masters" if there ever was one.
