Magic has been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. I never really took it serious or practiced enough. Since my wife got stationed in Germany in summer 2008, I have renewed my commitment to magic. I have practiced and starting performing street type magic to my wife's Soldiers and the students that go to the American high school that I work. My magic spark has inspired so many of my students and we have formed a Magic Club and meet several times a week. We share techniques, critique each other, and learn from each other. A few days ago, several of my students performed magic at the high school talent show and killed it; I was so proud. I am happy to have stumbled on The Magic Café. I am hoping to learn more this year, practice a lot, and grow in my magic and would appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Welcome majorpatrick,
Meeting with live Magicians is always a treat and having the Café as a resource when none of your friends can help is a blessing as well. Congratulations to you and your class in the talent show! Practice really does make all the difference. Time after Time is a forum dedicated to practice. It's towards the bottom of the list, check it out. - Mary Mowder |

Welcome to the Café!
I have many fond memories meeting magicians in Germany. On my first trip, the late Barrows Mussey (aka Henry Hay, author of _The Amateur Magician's Handbook_) met me at the Duesseldorf airport and introduced me to some of his magic friends. Mussey had written an article in _The Linking Ring_ and John Braun, the editor at the time, was able to put me in contact with him. On my second trip, I was in München at the time of a close-up contest and got to see some truly incredible magic. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez
