Exposure is a tricky subject. If you are taking the dave j. Castle approach, then you will rightfully earn the scorn of your fellow magicians. If you are teaching basic tricks (and you really need to do some research into what a basic magic trick is. The saltshaker or glass through table is not a basic trick) then I think that there is a possability of being able to create interest in magic. The only problem is that a lot of the time, people only want to know how it's done. But the biggest part of teaching magic is skill. Are you good enough at the trick to actually teach it right. Nothing is worse than teaching an effect the wrong way. This is prevelant in a lot of lower quality magic books and dvd's. If you teach someone how to do a move or sleight wrong, it can take forever to unlearn it, just to be able to learn it again the right way.
